When I try and open the game it shuts and comes up witha screen notifying me that the operating system does not meet the mimimum system requirments. It says it needs 10.14, but i have done all the updates, so this isn't making sense.

Can anyone help?

Hi martin.a.kelly,

Please see below:

Players using a version of OS X before 10.14 can access a compatible version of the game via the Beta tab in the game’s properties window. Select the ‘mac_linux_gl-1.0.3' branch for a version that is compatible with 10.10.5 up to 10.13.6.

We hope this helps.

This game won't launch for me anymore, when I try to play It just goes to a black screen and my tv goes onto standby. I can't even bring up task manager I have to manually switch my pc off and switch it back on again. Has anyone else had this issue? Or does anyone know what I can do to make it playable again?

Thank you for replying to me but I'm using windows 10. I've ended up uninstalling (GUTTED) may reinstall in future and hope it sorts itself between now and then :-)

I assume this is because the game is invoking a resolution outside of the monitor(TV)'s capabilities.

If I am correct, you can solve this by entering medieval2.preference.cfg (in the root folder of Medieval 2 on steam) and adding the following lines below [video] using notepad:
battle_resolution = 1600 1200
campaign_resolution = 1600 1200
Change "1600 1200" to whatever your resolution is.

Hi The Highlander,

Thank you for the update, in that case we can only suggest contacting publisher for game on your platform or checking out some of the other discussions as they may be able to provide assistance. However we hope CommodusIV suggestion is helpful all the same.

Hi abonfiglio1083,

1. Launch Steam.
2. Right click the game in your Steam Library.
3. In the dropdown that appears, select Properties.
4. In the new window that appears, select the Betas tab.
5. In the Betas tab, click the dropdown and select ‘mac_linux_gl-1.0.3'
6. The game will update.

We hope this helps.

The Linux Version can't find the libsdl2-2.0-0 on Ubuntu 18.04 AMD64. The library is already installed. Mesa and Amdgpu packages are up to date.
