I can't place units in battle... ?
Well. It's been a few years since i played this so just for some old school gamin i thought il'd play some tonight. Either i've forgot, or it's bugged or changed. But in battle, i select a few units. I right click on the map and drag them from one point to another. As i remember u'ld get yellow dots and the lines would strech in a nice line with troops. Exept this doesnt happen. I've tried additional buttons like Alt, SHIFT etc. They just cluster with no change... am i doing it wrong? :P

Sorry to hear that.... I suggest you try Steam Support (click "Help" in the top lefthand area of this Steam page, and then when the menu opens, click on "Steam Support").

I also suggest you search the Total War Center technical help forum for Total War Eras games (including Medieval II: Total War), and if you don't find your answer there, then I suggest you start a new thread there:

I also suggest you search the official technical support forum for Total War Eras games (including Medieval II: Total War), and if you don't find your answer there, then I suggest you start a new thread there:

You are doing it right. However, keep in mind it disappears and will not move the units if you try to stretch across and invalid position. That is my only thought on this.

No. Dunno, how do i do that? And do you think it would help?

Yes, verifying the game cache is always a first step to ensure everything is in place.
You right click on the game in Steam and you go from there. I don't remember if you have to go to Properties, but look for it there too. It might take some time, so be a bit patient.

Ah! Thanks alot guys! I hope it works!! :D
I wouldn't think it's a game file problem as usually that means the game doesn't work at all / crashes randomly. Still, reinstalling often helps.

Are any other controls out-of-whack?

Also, your mouse is set to the regular style and you're not doing something funny with it? You are using the right mouse button? :P

Also tell a unit to move and hold SPACE - that causes the yellow dots for unit-will-turn-up-here to show themselves (got to hold space, not just press) - does that help with anything at all?

I'd guess the problem's with the mouse, not the game files...
