It's not usually possible to de-patch any game, let alone the forgotten-by-CA M2...
The 1.04 M2TW version is the plain Kingdoms installation without the 1.05 final patch. Why anyone would make a kingdoms mod without the final patch is beyond me.
A) install it the same way
b) launch it the same way
c) If none of this happens then none of it will happen
Hints why i'd like to de- ptatch the game to a older verison but it doesnt seem possible or atleast on steam :(
There are multiple ways of launching a mod. If you use a different method then you won't find people unless they use the same method.
TA Reforged require Third Age Total War 3.2 to be installed.
Found this community: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/TA-reforged
And the latest patch\version got released barely a week ago: http://www.moddb.com/mods/third-age-reforged
http://www.moddb.com/mods/third-age-reforged
As far as I know they dont have a TWcenter page.
In the submods folder
Both Third Age version 3.2 and TA Reforged patch 0.86 have been tested by me in singleplayer and work fine.
These are the guides I have used:

What I have done so far:
1) I verified the integrity of the Medieval 2 game files
2) I have reinstalled Third Age (First and second part of version 3.0 and the patch 3.2) to the following location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War
3) I have renamed the TA folder to "Third_Age_Reforged"
4) I have extracted Reforged version 0.6 and all the patches up to patch 0.86 to the following location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods
(YES, it did ask me if I want to overwrite, I clicked 'Yes to all' )
5) I have changed the launch options for Medieval 2 in steam and TA Reforged works FINE !!! in Singleplayer.
