Diplomat: Agent limit reached?
Hi. Ive finally gotten a settlement where i could build the town hall. So problem is, it says agent limit reached on the diplomat...eh?!?! I dont have one lol
I can still recruit some of the other agents, just not a single diplomat.

Any ideas? Thx

You probably already have one have you checked the agent list and all of your settlements?

Thx guys. I think it maybe because ive got a few princesses. Maybe they contribute, as they can do diplomacy?

Eitherways, i didnt even know i had them lol. Ive got them running around setting up trade rights etc instead :)

Do you have any princesses? Maybe they count towards the same limit since they can also perform diplomacy?

Edit: apparently you responded while I was typing this. Dangit.

Merchants, priests/imam, diplomats, spies and assasins are all limited by the amount of cities you have (and the respective buildings they need in the buildings).

Question.

Are you playing a mod?

Which faction are you playing?
In your campaign HUD there should be a couple of grey buttons at the bottom saying "Armies," "Agents," "Navy," "Buildings," or something like that. Right-click on the one saying Agents (even if it IS greyed out). This brings up the List of Agents.

You should be able to see where your diplomat is lying around.

One Town Hall = 1 Diplomat. Build more for more diplomats.

This is how i figured out i had princesses mate. Ive came back to the game after a year or so, and finally finding my way around the UI.
But still unable to recruit a single diplomat, but i think i have 3 princesses.

It doesnt really matter, its a means to and end. I just wanted to setup some trade, as was, i didnt have any trade with other factions.

Ah..i can, and have made them now :)

You might be playing a mod that is using my agent limitation script: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=643718

Otherwise the limitation is one per each building that can recruit the agent, be it spy, assassin, merchant or priest.

That's probably why.

The base game doesn't have agent limitations for diplomats, spies, and assassins.

Yes it does, you need one building per diplomat, essentially. Each Town Hall of upgrade thereof allows you to get 1 more diplomat.

I checked the base game files.

This is what they showed me.

town_hall city requires factions { northern_european, middle_eastern, eastern_european, greek, southern_european, }
{
capability
{
agent diplomat 0 requires factions { northern_european, }
agent diplomat 0 requires factions { middle_eastern, }
agent diplomat 0 requires factions { eastern_european, }
agent diplomat 0 requires factions { greek, }
agent diplomat 0 requires factions { southern_european, }
law_bonus bonus 1
population_health_bonus bonus 1
}

I see no agent limit and I haven't modded my base game's agents nor the buildings related to them in any way, shape, or form.
