Party mode - 3 player minimum?

This is to the Devs, if you're out there!
First off, this game is funny as hell and I love it. However, why is there a three player minimum requirement for local party mode? I've been thinking about this since I bought it; there are no game modes which require three players; the games where more than two would be preferable (sports ball and wrestling, for example) requires at least 4 to avoid a 2v1 situation. In those situations a 1v1 actually works better, surely?

Could the minimum requirement be lowered to 2?

+1. Three players minimum seems like a relic from traditional mode.

Many "two-teams" games could work well as free for all (wrestling, for example).

Many "free for all" games could work well as team-games (racing-like, for example).

Give us control on which modes we'd like to play and whether they'll be team-games or FFA.

If you have a dual anilogue controller you can play as two ♥♥♥♥♥ at once. Just hold up on both sticks when consenting.

We've tried that but then it becomes meaningless when you both have one person on each team haha. We've taken to just adding one extra and parking it in the corner out of the way or killing it when we can't find a third, ahem, member.
