Should i buy?
Hi guys.

've seen this game in "Popular new games" on steam, but never heard anything about Monster's den yet.

Looks nice, i love the games like band of brothers and party RPG in general.
But is this game similar to them? Is there shop to buy-sell loot or it's just crawler like Legend of Grimrock?
Maybe u have link to some review?

Thanks)

From what I've seen so far this game has a more "macro" feel to it as each party is just one of potentially many and you're managing your company as a whole rather than just a single party, and the combat reminds me of Final Fantasy 7 style combat in a way, in that you take turns but turns don't necessarily occur one after another (your timer charges and you take a turn when it's full, the same goes for the enemies, and these timers charge at different rates depending on quickness).

There is definitely a gigantic randomized loot system in place so you're good there, for buying, selling, and finding.

You should try the other Monster's Den games if you're interested in this one. He created three before this one, and they're free-to-play flash games that you can find on sites like Armor Games and Kongregate. They are:

Monster's Den
Monster's Den: Book of Dread
Monster's Den: Chronicles

I loved those games which is why I backed this on Kickstarter, but if you're unsure about this game, those are good places to start.

Just to add, Chronicles is the most similar to Godfall as it was literally a little side project based off of Godfall's in-progress code. That's probably the best place to start if you're interested in buying this one.

Book of Dread is like an upgraded and expanded version of the very first game so I think it's really the only game out of the first true that you would need to play. The Kongregate website has the most complete Flash versoin of Book of Dread.

Also, there is a "remastered" version of the game available here on steam:

Is it worth $5? I can't really say for sure. I received the steam vesion as a kickstarter reward so my perspective is quite different. I certainly would't begrudge someone who wants to wait for a sale before buying the steam version.

Yes, kind of similar to Band of Brothers. The fighting has less characters, more strategy but I think a little less fun. World map is the opposite, this game is better on world map with more to do.

I also really like the look of this game. I am old school and it tickles my fancy, just not sure about the dev and his commitment. I don't won't to end up with a broken game that will never be fixed.

from what little i know about the game, i am starting to think about refunding. i agree with your comments. apparently 7 years in development and yet i cant correctly click on anything for movement, no 1440 resolution and what i think should be simple tooltips included are not (leveling up stats in particular in my brief time playing).
supposedly there is a day one patch coming but i am skeptical, why werent these simple issues addressed in the last 7 years?

You can fairly criticize how long it takes me to finish my games, but I'll stand by my track record of supporting them. The issues will be fixed.

Yea, there are some missing tooltips (especially during stats level up). And sometimes items comprassion works wrong (sometimes character thinks that more powerful (in all the stats with no downsides) item is worse than currently equipped). Forgot to take scrennshot : (
BUT overall, the game is quite good - no crashes or major bugs.
