Can't Make Psychedelic Plumbus?

I've scoured the interent and literally only found one thread talking about this, with only one reply. Do I just have a really specific bug? I can't get the achievement for making all of the combos post-game because when I combine a plumbus with the mega seed it makes a clicking noise and just spawns the psychedelic plumbus on top of the regular one, it doesn't "create" it on the pad to the right.

That would be fine, but when I toss it down the hole the monster rejects it every single time.

Anyone know anything about this? It's stopping my 100% completion :/

I have and play the game on Oculus by the way.
