Fish spawn - invisible fish
I have created a large map with some Islands and placed fish spawners around the Islands, but A lot of spawners have invisible fish. When I am in the boat I see the dots on the radar, but the dots are static and not moving. When press 'R' and have a look in the water where the dots are I see no fish. The spawners are placed below the water, but above the terrain. Only the first dozen spawners seem to work properly.

Am I doing something wrong or did I reach some kind of spawn limit?

You put spawner underground or near the bottom. If you will do it fish will swim under the map.

I have raised all the spawners to the top of the water and it's still the same. Also on the radar one moment the fish are there as static dots and then they are suddenly gone again.

I have uploaded my fishery here: https://easyupload.io/dh2uam
You can see that the Island you start at has normal spawns, taking the boat to the neartest Island the fish are not there, but on the radar they are. Same for the other Islands that has spawners around them.

Bootsy, it seems to me there's no clear explanation forthcoming. I've posted similar questions and got very limited response. I think I deleted most, but there's still a discussion @ https://steamcommunity.com/app/468920/discussions/10/1743390208996823719/
I created some complex, but not excessively so, waterways and placed a great number of spawners everywhere. I tested in normal mode (to enable hunter vision) by walking the shoreline. I'd see fish appearing in the distance, but as I got to the location, there'd be no fish. Also tested with sonar. As the location is neared, as required a great number of fish appear, but promptly all simultaneously disappear. In that design, it seemed to have something to do with location, as other spawners worked properly. Designed a few more fisheries, but the problem has persisted. As result, I haven't been able to make a single working fishery. It's a bug, but no one wants to own up to it.
It's really a crying shame as the fishery editor has so much potential...

Yeah I don't think this will get solved. It seems that there can only be X amount of fish on the map and the rest of the spawners just spaz out if you place them. I believe I had something like a dozen working spawners, the rest didn't work. I gave up on the editor and moved on.

It actually doesn't seem to be related to number of spawners. I went to one of my problem designs and deleted all spawners. I then placed 3 size-10 spawners in the known problem area. The same thing happened - Fish appear, then all disappear. Then I added another 3 in an area known to work. Once again the fish in the problem area disappeared, while those in the other area behaved correctly. What I'm finding therefore is that it's got something to do with the actual position of spawners in the design. I've played around by moving the player start position and also that rectangular base the player starts on (these are the only items any design starts with) but could not draw any logical conclusion from my findings.
You've shared your design with them, and it appears you're still awaiting a response. I did the same and ended up in the same situation, till I finally got p1ss3d off and deleted the thread. Don't understand why they don't just admit there's a bug. And it appears they have spent a fair amount of effort upgrading the S/W, fixing other bugs. Why does the spawner issue not qualify for the investigation list?
is it too big a problem to fix?

having this same issue, the base game fisheries are kindof meh, fish dont even seem to have ai they just swim randomly, not really enjoying the game.
