I'll let you know how I went later!
Edit: I forgot to ever get back. It worked through VD.
Please tell if casting work better for you.
(When I tried to start the Oculus version outside of SteamVR I got some strange behaviour from the rod too it sort of teleported around making the float fly around, casting was the same random mess.)
Hmmm I can't even get Airlink to work so I will let you know how it goes through Virtual Desktop . Running it through the "Games" tab in VD it will often add known fixes and workarounds so I'll let you know how I go when I get a chance to test it out.
Okies, its not super hard. For wireless you are best off with a dedicated router specifically dedicated to the headset as you want the highest bandwidth possible. It should be wi-fi 6 and just hook it up, wired, to your regular router, then connect it, wired, to your PC. Then you connect your headset to the dedicated hub, then run Airlink from the headset itself to connect to your PC. As I recall first time you will need to enter a code to pair it, but after that you should be fine.

You can also use a third party program called Virtual Desktop, which is what I use, as prior to Meta releasing Airlink, VD was the way to go (the program, not the STD!):
