Cannot Get Catfish
I am using a feeder rod, a bottom reel, an okena level 7 braid line, a panit cage for weight with vanilla bait inside, an artificial egg on hook, an okena pod, and an okena alarm. What am I missing?

Hi, i had the same problem in the first instance until i noticed that they would rise to the top on Powell around the end of the pier. I moved onto float with cut bait and fished as deep as you can.

Fish near the boat moored about 60ft from the jetty, use small or large cutbait on a float set at full depth............and wait! You'll get bass as well but eventually you should get a cat.

This worked for me. Fish near the pier and to the left of the boat moored there. Got it with a pea. Max length with line and a bobber.

Thank you!

Glad to hear it! You can also get cats by the moored player boat, casting full distance in front (with boat to your right), using same tactics. If you have new dlc there is also chance of a flathead now.

Corn works good for them too.

And you should start from a small hook first , after catch 5 to 10 fishes the step hook size up.

This post is 2 years old. You can get good sizes in big areas of water, near surface and the outside of the map now, rather than deep fishing the pier.

Some nice flathead OUT there also.

Umbrella rods are long gone ^^

Hmmm. Original post is July 26, 2019. Today is September 11, 2020. Pretty sure that's not two years. Either way, in before edit, followed-by delete, and colorful insults. Edit: And four fifteen twenty-one (Yes, seriously) posts later, edited, and with colorful insults, are now deleted. It's like I have a crystal ball or something.

You know, the usual.

Edit: On a side note, the information is still helpful to those new players who may encounter the same issue. Like me, at the time, for example. Just so we're all on the same page.

No its not useful you can catch max size flathead and channel catfish outside of map. Yes I deleted my insults but it still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hurt. I dont need a major flame work on the forum to get it read.

Maybe you lack reading comprehension. I said it was useful to me. Thus, the reason I thanked the original poster as well as the person with the succinct answer. Others later added more information that is, yes, useful to the community.

So, yet again, you're incorrect.

By the way, the developers can still see and read your posts even if you delete them. They just become invisible to the public. So, please, don't come at me high-handed now.

You know what you said. And so do the developers. Again, maybe it's not useful to you, but it was useful to me. And hopefully, it'll be useful to someone else in the future.

Hope that's clear enough for you.
