Most reasonable good fishing game on Steam?
Let me explain, I was infatuated with fishing, since I was a young man, I use to make my own lures. But, because of physical handicaps, that with a few other sports, I loved, went out the door. Could you please suggest a decent fishing game that won't cost me an arm and a leg to purchase, Thank you!

Not sure. They all seem quite different. Still on the fence on getting this one. The most realistic one should be Fishing Planet, IMO. There is also a F2P version. But you really have to grind. Dovetail games are also fun, but they put out too much DLC. I really like the dev support on Ultimate Fishing Simulator, although the Xbox version seems kind of forgotten and late on updates. That’s the only reason I am holding on this one. Waiting for better console support, as I don’t play on steam.

I decided to support the developer and bought the console version of the game. Didn’t play it yet. Just messed around with the menu. Must say it was a bad surprise. They are terribly implemented and everything looks horrible. Worse than any other fishing game I ever checked out. Even old Rapala has a better interface. I just hope now the gameplay is worth it.

Yes, this one. Played a number of fishing games, myself. All the others turned into pay-to-win and/or grind to win or to gain achievements. So far, this game has been none of those.

The Fisher Online is the best fishing game imo. I'm amazed nobody here has mentioned it. Best looking waters by a country mile, constant free updates with new fisheries and species. Great quests to do, great range of tackle including fly-fishing. Gorgeous game with waters and locations that are truly alive. Don't want to be rude because this is a much older game, but it's way better than this. Avoid the so called free games, they are a very slow grindfest unless you spend a fortune on premium and gold.

This game is not perfect, and is more arcade-ish than other fishing games, but honestly? This is still one of the best ones out there. It has a lot of content and the devs genuinely seem to care about it. They never turned the game into a grind fiesta or a pay-to-win thing.

It has been up front and honest about what it is the entire time.

You really can't go wrong with this title.

I also heartily recommend TheFisher Online. That is also a superb game. Count is right: don't bother with the F2P games. They're all grindfests or pay-to-win scams.

Interesting. I've not tried The Fisher Online. After I get the last achievement in this game, I'll give that one a look as well. Thank you. :)

Edit: It's still in early access from what I've seen. Also, I don't see any achievements, if that's your thing, but I do see them mentioned in the discussions. Just FYI.

Last achievement? The crazy 10.000 fish one? That is just insane.

Ugh. Don't remind me. Yeah, that's the worst achievement in this game. :(

This one for me, free ones are packed with micro-transactions or other hindrances like licences you need to buy each time you go to some spot and equipment that breaks and wears down super fast etc.
This one is just relaxing.

After playing some hours and getting to level 8... The gameplay can be fun. The underwater view is a nice touch. But the menus are terribly implemented for controller use. Game has potencial, but I don’t think devs will change this one if they are already working on Ultimate 2. Despite the issues, game is worth it if you are a fan of fishing games and have multiple.

I also recommend TheFisher Online. Ultimate Fishing Simulator is decent too though. I got many hours out of it, hopefully UFS2 that's "coming soon" will be a nice improvement too. Mainly I'm hoping they improve the fly fishing.
