Carp Luring Method

I'm trying my hand at only using fly fishing, which is quite a lot of fun. The fights are intense. Also fully aware I won't be able to catch everything in the game but aim to get all that is possible.

So the Encyclopedia says Mirror Carp luring methods include straight slow, lift & drop, stop & go.
However no flies or lures I've seen list Mirror Carp. Or any carp for that matter.
The crucian Carp luring method is twitching according to the docs.

Does this mean its impossible to catch carp with flies/lures? Or just that there isn't a preferred fly and catching would be very difficult?

It should be, Carp are not really a fish caught on lures, as a carp fisherman I have never used or caught one on a lure

Lures are generally for predatory fish of which Carp are not, they tend to be bottom feeders, I fished carp specifically mirror most my young life, as above never once have I caught carp on a lure, not saying it's impossible but very unlikely. Improbable is probably a better phrase.

That said I've also caught carp on floating casters. Fly pupa (pupae ploral). So it's possible if the fish take a liking.

Yeah catching Carp with bait is not a problem. I find #7/0 size with semolina ball as bait works a treat with my main profile. Make sure you're fishing in pond 3. My luckiest spot for Mirror's is travelling to position 1, and turning around to face pond 3.

I suspect the encyclopedia has a luring method listed for the Mirror Carp by mistake and should read as "None". The Grass Carp entry shows the luring method: none.

North east pond is the one. I find the most success by fishing that pond with the north west one behind me. Standing on or near the Jetty. That's where I've caught my 49kger

I just got a small mirror carp with spoon lure! It happened at Atchafalaya Basin and the lure was Soukouss Blade 50S (Sakura Lures DLC). Luring method straight slow.
