Also price is way mor fair and you get more content in the base game. FSW depends way to much on overpriced DLCs as usual the case with games from Dovetail.
It is fun to, dont get me wrong but its more arcade than sim.
Both games have their good points and their flaws. I really like the underwater camera and trophy room of UFS but I find the fish fighting mechanics rather lacking. Basically every fish runs in a straight line while after setting your line tension you stand there motionless until the fish tires and you drag it back to you. Gets a bit boring after a while. In FSW each fish species fights differently, they twist and turn trying to get off the hook and it feels like a real fight. Took me 15 mins yesterday to wrestle a 130lb catfish and the sense of achievement on landing it was real. Also in UFS all the fish are copies of each other while in FSW the fish are more individual. There are also trophy fish to catch with their own traits. UFS has the better landing system and gives more information on which bait works best etc. FSW has boats, with trolling motors and huge lakes but a steep learning curve and very little useful information on what works best for what you are targeting.
So, if it's a bit of quick arcade action you want go for UFS otherwise go for FSW if you want a good fish fight and a ride in a boat!
both are fun games but very arcadish.
Plus it's DLC is optional and not overpriced.
