hard time with stop and go
I learned this method recently but sometimes(or usually) I can't get the rhythm right and spoil it. Once the rhythm is lost I have to cast again. Timing is scarce it seems. Funny thing is I suppose this differs from one location to other. For example I had no success with it in Pinas.

Any tips or suggestions?

Only place I can catch anything on a lure is Betty lake if I get everything right, have given up spinning as a bad job everywhere else as it's seems a waste of time.

Sorry but your reply doesn't help my question. I learned pretty much all techniques but am struggling with stop and go. I need help with timing.

If you're still fishing here try changing your location to the Greenland DLC, changing your rhythm may work there. Also try the Dakino QRT4&5 lures at 50ft depth alternating reel speed (R&F), it works for me there. Ps get back to me if/when it does.

OK I'm reinstalling now. I'll see what I can do.

I finally worked out "stop and go" technique. I found this video on youtube that explains all the methods. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqXGoV8vhrY&t=621s

What I did wrong was not waiting enough for the lure to sink. It seems I have to let it sink and stay at the bottom for 1-2 seconds all the time during reeling; not only at the beginning. Now I nail it all the time. I'm back in this great game and I'm really enjoying it. I bought all the good DLC's.

does this also work for Fly Fishing as was messing about this morning with it and was only getting straight and straight / slow lures but could not get it to do stop and go and last night unsure how I got it to to do that but need to figure this out as want to fly fish was my main reason for buying this game as it had fly fishing in it unlike most fishing games but so far not been able to get it sorted out

Well I haven't even tried fly fishing yet but just yesterday I was curious and searched for a tutorial on youtube and found this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cLjYtjzsNU I don't know anything else unfortunately.

OK will check that out thanks as cast probably 50 times and only got 2 fish to nibble using the stop and go lure but haven't a clue how I got those 2 stop and go lures the rest have all been straight or straight/slow and have had 0 nibbles on those two types of lures.

This is where I wish they would take up my suggestion and put together some tutorial videos describing the various parts of the game including this like luring and such. Cause to little is out there for a game thats been around a few years.

after watching this yeah is one I looked at but using the method he is I got zero strikes he just uses the straight method. There's one other guy out there but his videos older like 2018 or something and things have changed since he did the video so not sure if lure mechanics changed since then or not as again like this guy he also had same sort of method but have yet to get a nibble using these methods

Frankly, after I returned to the game many months later I had a great catch in Betty lake but in other locations it got harder to get something. It annoyed me a little. But when comparing this to other fishing games the lure methods definitely have the best mechanics IMO. I too would like some tutorials though, they are hard to find.

yeah I haven't fished much on other areas mainly because being new I just don't have the right equipment I know I bought a full casting set up last night just to test it out and the shark and some other were either stripping my reel clean of line or snapping it despite the gear being half way up the gear charts like level 11 type gear.

On the plus side I returned to Betty for a few lat casts last night and actually fell asleep just because it had been a long day and when I woke hour later or so the game was still running so I tossed my line in for one last catch and glad I did

not to shabby for one last cast was using spinning gear. 5 more pounds and would have been top of the leader board HA HA

You don't have to catch the biggest fish and top the ranks. Just try any location and gear you like and have fun freely I would say. That's my purpose in this game.

yeah but it's still fun to check what others have caught and see if you can beat especially once catching the bigger fish
