How deep is the ocean? (answer inside)
- and who is crazy enough to try to find out?

The answer to the second question is: ME!

The answer to the first question however, is I DONT KNOW!
When i reached 97 meters, everything slowed down massively, and the 1m from 97 to 98 took as long as all the way down there.

Reaching 98.9 (98.8 in the screenshot) i couldn't go any deeper. Either i had no more line, or the physics acting on the line just wouldn't let me. Anyway, no bottom to be found in the Pinas ocean. Yet ;)

Enjoy:

Small update:

While writing this post and going to normal camera, i apparently gained a small amount. 100m depth breached! Still no bottom though:

Another update:

Looking more closely at the normal camera, i noticed reel out stopped working. I reeled in then reeled out a bit to make sure i wasn't bugged. Nope. 100m seems to be the amount of line on the reel, so that answers that ;)

Also, while reeling all the line back in to test if the spool actually fills with line, i was very gladly surprised that it actually does!

NICE DETAIL!

(i can live with it looking like there is still a little line on the spool when its empty haha, i didn't expect it to actually change at all in the first place)

Also, sadly in my ocean endeveaurs i didn't find any marlin. It looks like the ocean map has sneaky code wrapping its edges or something so that it is endless (and sometimes hard to find fish, but there are dorados, amberjacks and runners there too) ;)

Marlins can't be catched yet :) Did you find bottom?

Nah. As you can see i ran out of line, and your ocean scene probably doesnt have a bottom mesh :)

Also, i am guessing the ocean is "endless". Flat mesh with deformation and you hit the north top and come back in at the bottom south etc i am guessing? - And the islands are actually part of the skybox would be my second guess :)
