i already fish in the powell lake i found every fish except catfish anybody have a clue where to catch catfish on powell lake?

lol Blink, yeah, since last post i've gotten a few sturgeons on single hooks as well fishing for other species. Did you know that the sturgeon take artificial and natural eggs too f ex?

Well, for the catfish, I have no trouble hooking them WHEN I can find them. But on the boat, they just swim under it, an they're gone. They are nearly impossible to find from the dock.

Just grab the boat, go to the left channel at the buoy and have a hunters look around. And regarding the under-the-boat line entangled bug (and related ones), yeah. I think Raintek and co will have that fixed during the next week.

If you are very careful and keep a hand on space, you can land some of them without them getting stuck in the boat. I have caught 4 this way (and lost many)

Maybe in other places but in the USA you would be bottom fishing floatless. Depending on if bait floats by itself you may not use a weight . Cats are bottom feeders that use thier flat heads to dig through the muck and thier feelers to feel in the cloud they create to find food. You would fish normally with the stinkiest human food you can find. Uncured hot dogs in pieces are some folks favorites, other people like to use chicken livers or beef liver cut up. My favorite is good quality cheese bait. It stays on the hook longer and survives hard long casts better than grocery store food that has a tendency to fall apart. I dont know how many times I have seen guys fling chicken livers across a pond or river, "Sorry!".
The technique is cast , let sit on bottom for few minutes, pull up to lift bait off bottom as you reel in a few yards then let it drop again, rinse and repeat.

I generally use just a couple of weights, but no float. I use chicken breast in blood and garlic. Let that sit in the sun for a few hours and you have the stinkiest bait imaginable.

ehm i am not able to see fish with hunter vision idk why maybe they are too deep :D or i need higher lvl of that skill ?

You should be able to? Are you using it below or above water?

Below water you can only see if its directly in front of you, so use it above water and pan around :)

i stand on the boat boat sonar shows 5 fish around boat i stand in rear of boat use hunter vision i see 2 fish 3 are hidden

if the bleeps are close to the boat, try looking down on the boat, they are probably under it ;)

Also, if its small fish on the bottom at high depth (f ex a black crappie or bluegill at 19m) they can be quite hard to spot

well i am trying to locate catfish but no luck yet a was in left cannal from start to the end of it nothing only stripes

Stick to the left canal around the buoy, they are there but can be pretty hard to spot. And usually you only get to see 1 maybe 2 with hunters vision.

From my little experience with it, it seems there are more (maybe they spawn once you have your bait out). So if you cant find any catfish with hunter vision in that area, pick a spot where they are somewhat dense, put overweight on your float setup and cast in the middle of those dots.

Let it sink to around 1-2m above the bottom. Your large cutbait will also get you some largemouth bass while you are fishing, and the cats will show up eventually.
