If you are very careful and keep a hand on space, you can land some of them without them getting stuck in the boat. I have caught 4 this way (and lost many)
Below water you can only see if its directly in front of you, so use it above water and pan around :)
From my little experience with it, it seems there are more (maybe they spawn once you have your bait out). So if you cant find any catfish with hunter vision in that area, pick a spot where they are somewhat dense, put overweight on your float setup and cast in the middle of those dots.
Let it sink to around 1-2m above the bottom. Your large cutbait will also get you some largemouth bass while you are fishing, and the cats will show up eventually.
