lake powell -catfish

i already fish in the powell lake i found every fish except catfish anybody have a clue where to catch catfish on powell lake?

I'm searching for them as well. I assume they have to be in "shallow" water as i'm guessing they have to be float fished and leader length only goes up to 250cm.

I've sailed around all over using hunters vision, but haven't spotted any.

Nm, found them! Or one at least. At 15-17m depth. I assume they want us to catch them with softbait then.

Tbh im not sure how we are supposed to catch them. Thrown almost every lure available up to lvl 9 at it now, and its not interested. And leeches, worms, cutbait etc cant get deep enough.

I give up for now. Ive spent almost 1200$ on different lures, and it hasn't shown the slightest interest in any of them.

part of the fun is finding out what lures/bait to use.
but you should get a good clue from real fishing.

Pretty sure cutbaits are the way to go, but since floats are stuck at 2.5m depth, I have no clue how to catch them neither.

Im actualy trying right now with every bait and way possible to catch but it doesnt bite.Just swims around it.Changed the reel and line,tried stop n go,twitching.Cant think of anything else

I did read in another thread, that you _can_ use cutbait and float, but with a "redneck like" method of putting too much weight on your tackle to make it sink ;)

I haven't tried that yet, i just woke up :)

FINALLY IT WORKS FOR ME TOO!!

I do the 2g float with 30g weight with big cutbait 2/5 hook. It drops down to the bottom like a rock.

The strike part is a bit tricky tho, since I can no longer use the float as an indicator.

I figured it out without tricks. Spot the fish with Hunter Vision, size 3 hook, large cutbait, 2.5m depth. The fish will come. Although their needs to be more catfish in the lake, as it seems only 1 or 2 spawn (as seen from the docks anyway.)

- However, when float fishing from a boat, it is very easy for the fish to get stuck in the boat model under the water (can't see the boat under water but your tension will reach max), so you have to use a combination of reeling and letting out line fast (space) until you hopefully get your catch (or get line entangled and lose it and your bait).

Hopefully this bug will get sorted out fast.

Edit: You can't _always_ see the boat in underwater cam (i guess sometimes the cam goes inside the boat model or something)
