Real money for rods/reels/boats? I don't necessarily have a problem with. Especially if it's between waiting to level up a bit for the non-premium stuff or opting to pay real money to get it now.
The one reason why I like microtransactions is it gives the developers incentive to add content and usually increases the overall amount of content in a game vs. just a couple of major addons.
The biggest thing is how does the game play out though. In real life I don't need the best boat, most expensive rod/reel, and the perfect lure/bait to catch monster fish. Does it help? Of course... but if the fishing behavior is modeled anywhere near real it shouldn't be a requirement.
A friend of mine did an experiment once just to make fun of another friend of ours that is a total gear queer when it comes to fishing. Just to show him you don't need all the bells and whistles he ripped the handle off of a silver spoon, drilled two holes in it, and used it as a lure. Did it work great? Not really, but fish would hit it. He landed a 30" northern that day and an 18" bass with it.
Point is, don't pidgeonhole us into fishing with specific stuff. Premium should be a convenience and nothing more.
Also a solution to the tournament issue is easy. Have an open tournament and a limited. Limited is non-premium content only. Open allows you to use everything.
Would you mind linking one that talks about the concerns I brought up then?
I just went through all the topics you wrote on about price. None of them do you specify anything. All you said was the game will be 20 dollars and that you will decide what the DLC will be later.
So this still concerns me since at 20 dollars it sounds like we won't recieve a full game at the start and will get DLC to death for the rest of the game.
So please just be honest.
When we buy the game will we get all the lakes, fish, boats, fishing gear, and everything else you have already created at that point? Or will we only get some of it and have to pay DLC prices right away for more content which has already been created at that point?
Still not answering the questions.
I just answered very clearly. Everything we show is included in 19,99$. If DLC will be released it may contain ex. more branded equipment. We didn't decide yet, DLC never been our priority.
Sorry if i seem like im trying to fight. I am not. We the players just have been getting screwed over a lot with DLC or games coming out that aren't 100% and they DLC us for the rest like Destiny did.
From what I can take from what you have said then is that we will recieve a full game and not get DLC'd for more content right away. Thank you for your patience on this subject. I am really looking forward to the game and it looks amazing and is the only reason why I even brought this discussion up.
Other companies have screwed up with DLC or paid content that is an unfair advantage for those who buy them or making people pay for more content that should be free because it should be part of the base game and I just don't want to see it happen in this game. Thanks again!
In the fishing planet I have purchased all the DLC ;)
