Ultimate Fishing® Simulator

I only hope...
...this game wont be an arcade game trying to pretent to be a realistic fishing simulator.

I honestly don't get developers who make fishing game and they go for arcade type of game instead pure realism. We need Escape from Tarkov of foshing games not anoteher arcade ;P

Time will show if people continue to waste potential of fishing genre.

Cheers! Can't wait to play this game :steamhappy:

It wasn't best. It was only type of the fishing game which was resonably developed so obviously people liked it. Best fishing game is the one which delivers best fishing experience as a game and arcade-ish games can't and won't deliver it.

And? Its only a hype video. I've played "bass" fishjing games all of them and they are nothing compared to actuall fishing simulators which mimic visually and mechanicly fishing experience. I will trade all (especially arcade bass fishing games) with Russian Fishing 4.

There will never be a" actuall fishing" simulators . Thats like a roller coaster simulator being a actuall ride .

If these devs. put the ability and the resources into the peripheral ( fishing reel/rod. steering wheels, guns, xbox bontroler ) in the game it will be very sucssesful .

The video demostrated how someone could simulate fishing . There is no modern day fishing game that does what was done with the stike or a couple of the others .

I (and others ) spent a lot of time helping the devs. of the strike to get it as close as technology would allow .

The only kinda realistic thing about Strike is a controler and game on itself is a rubish simulation of fishing so idk what the heck are you talking about. Simulation wise both Fishing Planet and Russian Fishing 4 offer 100 times more realism than Strike ever did. Just because you have controler shaped liek a fishing rod it doesn't mean your game is actually realistic. Only rason why these days fishing games don't ahve controlers dedicated to the game is ... it's not worth to make them and thats why for example FP is using VR controler which are perfectly fine.
Strike is a rubish arcade game with controler which looks like fishing rod and there is nothing special about it.

Russan fishing game looks like a PF knock off ! Seeing who is developing ultimate fishing, I wouldn't hold my breath on it being very good .

Is this an argument or observation because I don't see how something looking like something else is relevant to whether its bad or good especially in term of games where if you make specific (fps, RPG, Sim) game IT WILL look like another game wether you want or not.

Seeing who is developing ultimate fishing, I wouldn't hold my breath on it being very good.
Which is who exactly? From what I see Bit Golem is at best mediocre-ish developer and Ultimate Games doesn't have anything to show in terms of previous games.

So far developers of this game only showed us "background" of this game and no actual fishing and mechanics. I would say it is a bad sign since they focus more on graphics and environment than on actual fishing and fishing mechanics. It's the same issue like when you make racing game and you don;t show racing just how good city or racing tracks look.

Clearly your understanding of good fishing simulator is stuck on games like The Strikeand you ahve no clue what is important in this type of game.

It would be nice if it was realistic when it comes to fish behaviour (fighting and swimming behaviour of different species), spawning/accurate spawn times with weather to suit these times, weather impact on fishing (cold fronts, etc), etc. But I'm not sure any serious fishermen (or anyone serious about fishing realism) are ever really involved in fishing games.

I always thought Trophy Bass 4 was the best fishing game, but I haven't played it in like 10 years so I'm not sure how realistic it really is.

The main thing that interests me in this game is the ability to create lakes. I can only hope that this really will have an advanced editor. Hopefully with the ability to import your own textures/models. Or improved after release to include features like that.

Trophy Bass 4 was also a good game. The good folks that I know from our fishing forum, guides and our turnament team are always looking for a fishing game to hold us over on those days we can't fish due to inclement weather. Once this game has more info out, I will post this on our forums like I did with planet fishing. Planet fish got medum response on our forums, due to several reasons. Some were what many reviewers have said on the steam forums. I do hope it turns out to be a great game!

By the standards of 2000 TB4 was a decent fishing game but it wasn't a fishing simulator and thats the problem with all "bass fishing" games. If Ultimate Fishing will be like "bass fising" games it will fail as a fishing simulator but will live as fishing game. Most EU players wont touch it because it will be (eventually) boring arcade game NOT a fishing simulator.

Of all the fishing games out right now, which one do you think is the most realistic?

Fishing Planet has best fish behaviour and kinda decent mechanic/physics.
Russian Fishing 4 is most complex sim allowing people to fish in all kinds of ways without being limited just to holding one fishing rod or standing only on the bank.
It's important to note that both games have a lot of issues but in "fishing simulator" department those two are way ahead of anything made so far in the fishing genre.

Russian Fishing 4 without a doubt open beta atm but still.. it's mostly all in russian language still but i'm playing it daily and have reached level 10, it's awesome tbh.

with a little common sense you can get over the language barrier most of the time.
