And perhaps there was another confounding factor that made things worse in your case, like not realizing that you've picked automatic button selection which means you have to be careful where you look, and thus surprising you with movement you didn't mean to initiate. (Automatic gaze selection is a holdover from the days when those new to VR were unfamiliar with controllers or when using something really simple like a Cardboard viewer -- I 100% recommend using "Wait for Input" instead!)
In any case, the next update brings some new options to the table, including letting the user be in total control of which way the craft is facing.
Hope you feel better!
yeah i guess the main issue was the controls somehow activating without me pressing any buttons... do you have any idea how that happened?
it almost feels like the buttons were set to activate by looking at them, but i only glanced at them for half a second or 1 second.
i dont think anybody, even the most immune to vr sickness, want to fly in a shuttle that turns and moves automatically and rotates around its own axis while it flies a curved path.
this is probably going to give some people motion sickness if you put them in an actual real vehicle that moves in this way, its a lot like a teapot ride at a fair or amusement park.
i suggest you to adjust how the auto pilot flies and not fly those maneuvers.
can you maybe add an option to just stand in space and teleport around?
ive seen a couple of solar system sims that do that and it works really well.
youre limited to a 2d plane, but maybe it could be possible to teleport in a 3d space?
that would completely remove the motion entirely, which would make it 100% safe.
and the shuttle option is still there for people who want it...
