VR Support HTC Vive
Hi,

this game looks interesting. Will we be able to play it with room scaling, motion controllers and the HTC Vive?

Thanks for the interest;

No at launch. However, as we did with our first title, we'll keep on supporting the game post launch, based on the feedback. We're prototyping another title for Vive, so who knows we might add support for Devoid as well. Keep in mind though, this is a first person title, so there can't be room scaling, rather controller based VR support

Thanks for the information!
What you mean with "a first person title can't be room scaling"?
It's the other way round. Most room scaling and motion controllers supporting games are first person games. I just want to mention Vanishing Realms, Hover Junkers, Space Pirate Trainer, Vanishing of Ethan Carter VR, etc... :-)

I agree that interacting the world with motion controllers great for VR, I'm worried about "movement in space" though

I'm looking forward to try Ethan Carter in VR but from what I've heard, since the game's core controls were designed for W,A,S,D locomotion, it gives some motion sickness to some players.

I think we'll always have some bit of "motion sickness problems" for first person games on VR

As stated in these two reviews:

Personally, I don't have any motion sickness at all with first person VR titles when moving around but there are plenty people...I wouldn't want my game give sickness to them:)

Yeah, thats right. Many people getting sick with WASD movement in VR.
The solution in most VR-Games is to give the people the choice if they want to move "normally" or with the teleportation-method. With that you cant get sick :-)
