Tips for the beginners
After getting past all the control issues and spending some hours with this game, I've come to notice that this game is very, very deep. It's basically a paradise for micromanagement junkies. Keep your group fed, warm and occupied and try to get that timer down.. simple, right? Well not exactly.

Once you start playing, you'll notice that the game is quite difficult. If you start playing "the wrong way", you'll have a lot of trouble to keep your group fed and warm. Eventually you'll most likely starve or freeze to death despite of your best efforts.

So here are some small tips which might improve your experience:

- Assign food and drinks (rations) to each of your group members when possible. Otherwise, you'll quickly run out of rations.

- Complete a Medium Furnace craft as soon as possible. This will keep fire going for much longer. When there is a storm outside, it can sometimes
damage your roof and that might ruin your whole game experience without a furnace update. No matter how much wood you throw in there, it won't be enough
and everyone will freeze to death.

- Whenever you get to a designated location, especially if it is far from the church, consider putting a camping tent close-by. That way you thoroughly
clean up that building. Just fill the camping tent box with items and they'll be moved to the church while you sleep.

- Having bandage rolls and painkillers is extremely important in this game since your group members get sometimes injured during a hunt, crafting or during a robbery.

- As soon as you get a hunter or forager role, assign it to Blane. He will make sure there is always food in the camp. Again, make sure to have
medicine available at all times since he can get injured during his hunts.

- Food and water are always number one priority in this game. You can actually keep on going without water for 3-4 days but will eventually die without
any warning even if your health is full.

- Get as many seeds as you can. They won't take any inventory space and you can buy the items you really need from trade nomads. With Thermo-drill lvl 2
craft you will be able to get more seeds from under the ice with your trusty Ako-Light.

- When you reach food supply of 2000 or over, you should be fine.

If you have any questions, ask away. I'm at an hour 25 right now so have experienced most of the game :)

Thank you for your attention.

Sounds fine but what I am experiencing is just another RND rogue like game. It just makes things absolutely so difficult it strangles the fun from the game.

Wolves attack with no defence result dead.

Scavengers raid you every night whilst the four people inside are oblivious to what's happening to the point it's futile to go out and forage.

Crafting anything is next to impossible due to the random placement of the required elements. For example I managed to get all bar the nails for the door that might keep out the scavengers. Result no nails to be found at any location.

Searching locations with the games controls is just mind boggling. At one location it was so difficult to move around that after afew attempts I lost the will to live.

Moving items around in the backpack is so laborious as to be ridiculious. What ever happened to left click and drag the item to where you want it???

Also I cannot exit the game as it seems to hang and nothing happens. Add to that the silly amount of time spent WAITING for the game to respond to loading and this game becomes not worth the candle as they used to say.

Hopefully the Dev's will get on top of the issues and we will get a good game from it, because it has the feel of a potentially good game.

These are good tips. The seed thing totally threw me for a loop--I thought they took up inventory space and didn't know they were currency, so I didn't pick them up in the first few locations. Grrr.

I'd also add:

- gas stations are really good for finding ingredients for food recipes
- as with all inventory management games, prioritize storage space--it means less trips running back and forth! The first AKO storage upgrade isn't that hard to do
- try not to burn all of your planks and shingles--they're good for fuel, but they are really important for some key crafting bits

Question, if I put lots of food on a character in camp, will they consume it all, or do they only eat whats necessary when they must? (So far I've only put one can at a time on each survivor, thinking I need to conserve the food else they would munch it all up as soon as they can)

They seem to take only what they need from the ration box. Food/drink in the ration boxes also seems to be protected from scavengers.

I've tried it all, putting one food one drink to each character or fill all the boxes and didn't see much difference. But I would recommend putting one food and drink to each.. seemed to work for me. Feels like they eat everything there is if you don't assign food separately, You guys should try all the options and see which works best for you :)

Great information. Thank you. :)

The food you assign to each character is on their person so scavengers can't get it unless they attack them, which is not a option AFAIK. Each time a scavenger strikes they take the food left behind in the stash I've found. Apparently later you can nominate one as a guard. Why they can't do this early in the game is beyond me. These are people who have survived for the last two years so the story goes so why are they so inept and stupid towards survival? Can't even stoke the fire they just die of the cold or don't guard the base from scavengers and allow the food to be taken!

I'm playing this on console since it doesn't seem to be on steam anymore. My issue at the moment is, I have food and water in all the character boxes. However, their thirst and hunger are super low.. I have plenty of meds but I can't find ANY of the items for building stuff...is my game just bugged?
