Storage box/inventory overflow -- how to access

I just started playing the game, and am running into an issue with "lost" items.

Specifically, the storage box in the game seems to accept unlimited number of items, but only allows access to the first 16. Withdrawing items can similarly place them in "extra" item slots. It feels like there should be multple "pages" of inventory on both sides, but I can't figure out how to access the later pages if so.

Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

it's a bug. the storage box is currently infinite(which it isn't supposed to be) but i haven't fixed it yet because it's kind of convenient. the obvious fix will be to add pages to it, but currently i'm pretty sure that removing anything from the storage box will fill the empty slot with one of your "lost items"

(obviously this is more of a workaround than a fix. item box pages are now on my to do list :) )

The game doesn't have multiple pages yet, I think they're being worked on. Items that have disappeared remain in their original place, covered by the new items but you can't see them. Withdrawing your newest items should make some of the older ones reappear, but you'll probably need to discard some things as you're running out of space.

Related: is it supposed to be impossible to discard collected notes? Dropping them on the discard icon isn't working for me and they're building up a bit.

About 6 years later and both the cra ppy inventory (where you basicall have to withdraw items from the chest over and over until you get to the final 16 ones) AND the inability to discard stuff re still there, completely unchanged.

Why do I feel like this game is one big bug mess and the developer ain't doing sh iet about it? O_o
