How do you overthrow a Monarchy as a legal opposition?

I started out as an illegal opposition in Saudi Arabia. I captured a small town in a suprise attack, then pulled out before the army arrived and hid in camps across the border in Iraq. Since men seemed to be dwindling just from idleing in the camps, I decided to just sign a peace treaty thinking it would go back to how things started (same options of diplomacy, etc), but instead I became a legal opposition with no militants. Starting off at about 60 in my favor vs 40 favor to the monarch, I'm now on 89% favor vs 32% monarch.... but now what? There will never be an election. All I can do is try to protest over every little percieved error the government makes.
Is it actually possible to bring the government down in these circumstances? What am I aiming to do right now? Is the only way to do it by going back illegal?

I got to being 100% in favor with the monarch as low as 15%, but things didn't seem to go anywhere. So I went back to being illegal. On one try it I ended up with 3,500 or so donated mercenaries (from other illegal groups), with only 6 local fighters! This while trying to recruit but only getting 3 people. They all got wiped in one go by a government infiltration. I tried again with varying affect, but on this last try actually got assasinated by one of my own leutenants, even though I had a popularity of 90% as a rebel and the monarch had only 15%. No idea why someone in my rebel group wanted to kill their popular leader. I'll have to learn more about the game, but at the moment I'm thinking it's actually impossible to bring down a monarch government without being a rebel. Maybe it's to do with starting as a rebel, but then why is going legit an option? I don't know.

As far as i can tell >.> even as illegal opposition if you start without a camp >.> bringing down someone in power is almost impossible >.<

As for someone assassinating you .

its entirely possible they were a spy :p that managed to get close , and did what they needed to do.

I've done it taking ryhad with all my armie + mercs but after less than 1 week in power army overthrow me every time. and I can't dissolve it cause of the Koweit attacking me. also I haven't found out how I can supress religious monarchy while in power because i'm nominated to life but I want to create election and parties...

You can change it by laws actually.
