How do I improve relations with other countries?

I'm playing as a Corbynist U.K and i want to improve relations with Russia after leaving NATO. What's a good way of doing this?

if you have 2018 addition than try to do a space mission together. try to make a non-agression military pact or like "crazy socialist" said make trade deals. maybe even creat a new organization (economic market) and invite them to it.
