Election
I'm sure there is already a post about this somewhere, but can someone who has a little experience with the game tell me how to win an election I'm the biggest opposition party at the start of the election period and at the end of it I manage to have 0.00% of the votes or less allthough it says my party program is the most popular, help advise? Otherwise I love the game so far bugs be damned!

Do you have a high popularity? However, since historic percentage was introduced, it has become a major factor in winning the election. Unfortunately, historic percentage is not working correctly. I believe it should represent the result of the latest election, but it remains static favoring ruling parties for decades. There were rumors about it being an optional thing (you would be able to deactivate historic percentage), though it wasn't implemented in the latest patch.

Currently to win the election you must be a leftist party (increase in minimum wage, pensions and other socal contributions), have huge popularity rating (80-100%), have an excellent campaign program and a historic percentage of at least being the 3rd/4th party (15-20% of total votes) in the latest election.

I really hope that 2018 addition will be followed by a free update to fix this issue. :/

I'm playing as a Swedish extreme right party, my popularity has remained almost static at 100% for a year historically I'm the third biggest party in my country.

The problem seem to be that in the poll just before the two biggest parties star debating I ALWAYS thrink to 5% or less. It's annoying. How is the best way to present campaign promises? Doesn't there need to be a cool down or something? Are meeting with associations and unions celebs etc more important? I just don't seem to get it

I've won elections as an opposition right wing party before. Election logic is rather spotty though.

There is no need to be a leftist party in order to win an election, as was mentioned above, but there a few things to take into consideration. One of the most important factors is the debate, it can make or break your campaign (and you should make sure to participate on it).

Also, take into consideration your public. Some nations will be more receptive to certain campaign promises than others. A “progressive” agenda can win votes at some countries and have people calling for your head at others.

Try asking for support during the campaign, save the big promises and rallies for the final stretch and do not overexpose yourself in the media

THIS. If you want a good example, a campaign promise that works in the United States does not necessarily work in India. I would recommend reserving a decent tax break for the debate. Only do this is your people seem open to tax breaks.
