My main gripe is the fact that some enemies damage you when you touch them instead of just based on their attacks. It's kinda obnoxious because you can only fight up close meaning you have to hit, retreat, hit, retreat...
Some of the level design is also just obnoxious instead of challenging.

: the last boss has the potential to ruin everything good in the game; you can only kill it fast through a specific way otherwise is a freaking stressable chore to the point that it's not even fun. You're only doing it to finish the game
: commands don't respond a lot of times; this happened to me a lot specifically with Jump+Up and Jump+Right commands with directions not responding and end into deaths
: short; unless you go after every single extra, power, and achievements, it's a very small game

So... would I recommend it? Not really after that ending but the game is free so feel free to try it. It basically killed all the joy to me even if the game was fun until there.

I was going to do the Race Mode because it seemed fun but now... now I don't care anymore about it. I can't support a game that makes me happy until near the end and then decides to give me a FU in the face and force the game to be longer through that. It's not even a challenge, it's boring.

I think I only felt like this on Megaman X5 (I think? It was long ago but it was the MegaMan game with the final Boss that you had to hit the head with a ton of protections around it making it almost impossible to do anything sometimes).

Early-game is terrible. Massive quit moment. These golem hands are terrible weapons.
No amount of smooth mobility is gonna save you from having to punch enemies in the lowest range imaginable.

Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls is a 2D retro pixel platformer/brawler that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. Gameplay consists of difficult platforming, brawling and dash-punching with the titular character, who is some kind of schoolgirl made of various monster components. Yeah, me neither.

The game features obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. At least it seems they made up their own tileset instead of asset flipping someone elses... the downside with that is it looks worse than an asset flip as a result. Yeah, asset flips are garbage, but underperforming an asset flip... ouch. That's bad. Resolution and controls are locked, so there's no way to improve the very poor visual quality or the control scheme. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC.

GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs, although in this case the game is completely free.

Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. This is certainly a gesture that shows dedication to the gaming industry. It's a shame in this case that the implementation is below the minimum standards a dedicated PC game should offer to enthusiasts. There's no "maybe" option in Steam, unfortunately, but I hope to see more work from this developer, perhaps as part of a professional game development company that can make full use of their talents without needing to make budget/quality compromises like pixel art and using off the shelf game templates and construction kits.

The game isn't even free, exactly, it's "donationware", AKA digital panhandling. The developer has their hands out for a $1 USD donation, still wanting to be paid for their effort filling out templates/copying+pasting things in GameMaker Studio. It's apparent a lot of work went into the game, but with such a poor quality game engine and poor quality visuals, it seems this really was a waste of effort and talent. You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, and starting a game development project from a point where it's already a failure (using GameMaker Studio and pixel "art") seems unwise to me.

Game is simple action platformer with very frustrating controls and annoying bosses. Yes, once you figure out what you are supposed to do. They are very simple to beat. Sadly. They have no tells what their next attack is. So you get a lot of cheese shots from them. Bosses at least should have unique animations for every single different move-set they have. Platforming levels are fine, but enemy placements are questionable.

The timer on the right corner makes you feel that if you reach certain time the game will end abruptly. This never happens, but the game doesn't communicate this very well.

Animations are alright and looks better what Steam has for old school graphics.

Overall I think the game itself is worth to try, but I don't recommend playing it to the end. If the controls and bosses were better designed the game would end at 2 hours. The additional playtime comes from deaths that occurs during the game.

Again, game has okay concepts and fine aesthetic. It just doesn't feel good to play and leaves you frustrated even if you played the game.

TL;DR: Game is a like a pizza with okay dough and tomato sauce. Only selling point is salami as topping which isn't the most original topping. Taste is fine, but because of the hidden glumps in the dough. It's not fun to eat.

What's worse than a sluggish melee attack with bad range in a game where touching enemies hurts you? That attack causing enemies to bounce off walls and hit you, dealing you unavoidable damage because you made the stupid, stupid decision to attack enemies in a video game.

This game is absolute garbage. 'Free' is a price too high. They should have paid me to play this.

This game is infuriating! I absolutely loved the graphics and music, and it is definitely a quality beat em' up that is free on Steam, but the stages are ridiculously tedious and unfair. No matter what you do to survive the stages, you'll end up returning to the exact spot you're stuck on just to scream at the computer once more. I'm so sad to uninstall this, and maybe I'm just not "qualified" enough to master such difficulty, but I can't face another day losing my mind because of this game.
