Along with all the other stuff people bribe Valve to let them bypass greenlight to spam their ♥♥♥♥ directly into the 'popular new games' tab.
THEY BURN
But yeah, the game actually looks interesting, to be honest.
People tend to forget that gameplay trumps graphics all day, every day.
It's why people still play non graphical roguelikes.
No bribery here, just common sense. You also don't need to go through greenlight if your game is already made. :)
There wasn't at the time of my posting. That one review also doesn't count, imo, because it was given to the author for free (aside from the fact that he's clearly stretching to say good things about it).
The game looks awful, all around. It's not the graphics, it's the everything. Did you watch the video? I have plenty of low-res, 1-man developed games (ever played Stardew Valley or Unturned?) and love to support them.
I'm not trying to slam it or anything, but this game clearly didn't get to the front page because it's "popular." It just plain looks bad, and nothing about its appeal is why it has any presence.
It's just, I don't judge a game by it's graphics, like you normally don't judge a book by it's cover. :)
I know, I'm a weird person for being like that, but I am.
As for the free review, those do count, because a lot of those people are honest. Sure, some aren't, I know.
But I've seen negative reviews by people who were given a free copy of a game. :)
Basically, Steam reviews are nice, but they should not be the only way to judge a game.
But again, maybe I'm the weirdest person ever. :)
MY big flaw is I'm too nice.
I'm sorry, but it really doesn't make any sense.
