basically while driving drunk I killed my wife and daughter
is someone pointing a gun to your head?
No... I just don't want to get yelled at from people who haven't finished it yet.
What I recall is that it was the main character's companion who was driving drunk and killed the main guys family.
Oh....guess what...they looked so much alike that I may even have thought it was the main guy driving....I think you are right, it was the other guy also in my ending
So I guess we got the same ending? I am pretty sure those times when the screen flashes white, are those times where the choice (which is not a choice, is more like an interaction) matters towards the ending. Is it known how many different endings there are? The choices (interactions) I made through the game:
I checked most text scattered around and most photos. I killed the grandma sitting on the armchair (sick) in one of the first buildings you visit in the game, in the small town. I interacted with the piano, with the guitar, and again with the piano in my apartment at the end of the game. I helped the little boy solve that colorful puzzle.
And also, I don't see why we would spoil for others. The title of the thread is clearly stated: 'endings'. Only an idiot would click on the thread if he/she didn't want to have the ending spoiled :)
HA! True enough.
Wow.. you killed a grandma? I don't remember that. Oh.. when you first enter the city location with the big building... if you run off to the left, you can look through an opening in the concrete dividers and see another human walking. That triggers a flash as well. This mechanic reminds me of what they did in the Metro games. I like it.
I'm thinking maybe this game will be my first lest play video I make. I'd like to go through some of the events again.
The grandma is after the bear attack. When the bear attacks, you spend the night in the barn. The next morning, you go on and cross a village. If you explore all the houses (you can break doors with an axe), you will find a house with a piece of paper inside. The paper tells you something about a family that had to leave and that left 'grandma' in the room. And to be careful with her in that room. The room is barricaded.....there is a wardrobe in front of the door, you can push it (slide it to the side), go in the room and you will find the grandma (alive but very sick, blood coming out of her mouth) ranting in an armchair. I chose to kill her to stop her suffering, I don't know if that's considered a good choice or a bad choice (killing = bad). I am also not sure if the screen would have flashed if you had let her "live" on the chair without killing her....I didn't try
in general, in the game is about 9000 "Easter eggs" for example, there is a reference to the movie "Evil Dead" including "Book of the Dead" and everyone noticed the posters of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Metro, Lambda sign...
yes the last one though should have been made more clear. I thought it was required to solve some puzzle in that level.....Lambda is a greek letter, it is not necessarily connected to that game unless written with the same style....was a bit misleading in that point of the game.
The ending I got I was looking the photoalbum, and my companion was just by the door of the room, then he remembered of the car accident, and that he was guilty, that's why he helped so much the main character, it was like his redemption. But I've seen another ending where you are by yourself on your apartment, and then the camera goes back to the ladder where you rest after the dog fight, and there comes the companion, he find a picture that you lost there, and then comes the same car accident movie.
The game is awesome! The story make it awesome! But I can't lie that I was a bit dissapointed about this "different endings" thing :/
Still, worth the money xD I like it =)
