Idling to Rule the Gods

Idling to Rule the Gods

What was your first buy with challenge points?
I'm super tempted to get the pet first

Damage reduction against UBs comes highly recommended as the first ChP purchase and that's what I went with.

After that, Pet Exp Overflow is the next recommended and that one absolutely helps considering how leveling pets is required if you plan to progress further in the game (esp as a beginner).

Yes, I thought the damage reduction vs UBs was the obvious best value-for-points first buy...and right after that I went for the Stone pet. After that, I was ready for the dungeon slot and the "auto refill dungeon items."

Stone pet is very dubious. It's basically useless until evolution and costs a lot of ChP. Definitely not something I would recommend to new players.

don't get stone until your GC floor is at least 25k and you can grow it and evolve it quickly. easily a newbie trap.

Agreed.

In this game, unless something is reasonably attainable, it's really best to just wait until it makes sense to go after it.

By the time it makes sense to go for Stone, you'll probably be able to grow it quickly enough to make it worth your while and you'll probably be able to purchase its upgrade shortly thereafter.

Useless? (looks it up) Oh, negative camps before reaching evo growth (-100, -80, -60, -40, -20, or 0 depending on its current growth) and only gains the positive camps after evo. I completely forgot that any of that had ever been a thing and wouldn't have second guessed people advising newer players to get it. So before unlocking the Stone pet, newer players ought to make sure that they have at least 9 pets already over 25k growth that can sit in the growth camp to help the Stone pet reach its evo growth as quick as possible. Letting it spend as little time as possible as dead weight.

Back when I was hungry for pets I just put him in dungeons, particularly the mountain where he could grow at a steady pace while supporting the fight. Even the most hopeless campaigners (like unvevolved salamanders and Undines) are good for that, also for filling a slot in "event" campaigns when you don't have a full set of evolved adventurers, and the campaign penalties don't matter any more than the bonuses do.
