Not sure why, though. It works for others and I only heard from one other player who had a similar problem. For him, it was also that no game recognized his Steam connection and I'm not sure if he found the reason or not.
Chances are, that it has something to do with your Pc-configuration or Steam-Client.
What PC are you using? Did you try to reinstall Steam?
As for my other game, probably not.It might stay Kongregate only, because it is not popular enough and has almost no graphics (so even less then itrtg and players already complain about the itrtg graphics).
So it might be some hardware-issue, that Windows XP with some specific hardware has problems. Not sure if I can help you with that :(
If you are indeed using this feature, try disabling it and running the game. I sincerely hope that is indeed the issue since it comes with a fairly easy fix of just disabling it.
***EDIT***
sadly, it's still a no-go, thanks for trying anyways.
I have a graphic artist friend who just migrated her game over from Kong to steam as well. She's considering expanding her team (coincidentally programmer positions) and might even be willing to toss a few freebie assets your way for this. Might be worth the social hookup. I think you two would play well together ;p
Hm the other problem for ICM would be currently, that I don't really have much time for it and not sure if it would be worth it to bring it over to Steam. The idle-aspect is probably not right for this game and I would need to make it into a turn based manager - game which would require quite a bit of time.
I currently worked on ICM the last weeks for the probably last update in Kong. (Unless it somehow gets much more popular which is unlikely)
But I wouldn't mind some free assets for ICM, if they fit the game and she really wants to do that, I would add them to the game, but I won't go for Steam with it, at least for the near future.
I also have already my next two games pretty much planned out and might need a whole year to finish them, so going to another company as a programmer is not really something I planned to do currently.
Although I currently work 24 hours a week as a programmer for a different company and still do my games as a part time job. So I guess it wouldn't be impossible and like you said, some social hookup might be worth it. So if you want to, you can introduce me to her.
When I think about it, If she wants to do art for ICM and I make it a turn based game to improve the gameplay, I guess it would even have a good chance in Steam. Still cars are totally different from anime, so not sure if she can and want to draw cars :D
Working together on some other game also could be fun, though. But I already hired an artist for my next game, so it probably would have to be something else next year or so.
lol, thanks for trying, and i completely understand, sadly, i wish i could upgrade as i'm going into college and don't have the time or resources to upgrade. I COULD go to windows 10 for free, but it would slow down my computer more than it already is so there's no point until i get a completely new rig. Thanks anyways, i'll try to enjoy it as much as possible in the meantime, and i'm looking forward to these new games you're planning on working on, coincidentally my planned major is computer science with a focus on game development
