skill training speeds?
am i missing something? given that this is supposed to be a progression game and things are supposed to get quicker why is there a cap of 1 on skills which essentially means its going to take the same time EVERY time to learn them all .. currently that time sits around 90 mins (chronos is current target) which makes it feel like you dont want to rebirth unless you have a spare 90 mins to play an IDLE game

I thought you could improve your "next at" which would do this for you?

I mean I haven't gotten that far yet, but that's what I'm assuming it does based on the description it has.

Improved 'Next At'. With this your clones will stay at the current skill until a next one is available!

thats what i think it does, but you still need to allocate all your clones in the first place (as they create) currently those that arent skill building are monument and divinity generator building (singles fighting), all of which i have built long before i have all my skills. By the time my skills are built i have nothing left to do with my leftover clones except stick them in might until such time as i can afford the leftover monument upgrades i want, so whilst it all seems to go to plan, i just dont like the fact that plan takes 90 mins every rebirth to achieve.

The whole Might Tab is there to make longer rebirths a bit more worthwile and you can't speed up the whole unlocking process, because it would defeat the purpuse a bit and would make faster rebirths even better.
And you can let it idle until all skills are unlocked automatically without a problem. If you don't have improved 'Next At' it is just slower than doing so manually. If you have it, it is even faster than doing it manually.
You probably want to wait longer than that anyway, so your pets can become hungry and you can feed them.

I have been playing this for a very long time and i think the only thing that needs to change is a better "next at"
There should be an option to get a next at that just goes to the next training after it is unlocked "NOT after a certain skill amount"

Each training unlocks based on the level of the training before it.
Running = 500 -> unlock sit ups
Sit ups = 1000 -> unlock push ups
Push ups = 1500 -> unlock swimming
and so on

Improved Next At can already go to the next line as soon as it unlocks. (And it has been capable of doing it going back at least 5 years to when this topic you necro'd was still new.)

Before you pick up INA there was a need to either 1) disable Next At and just move things manually or 2) set the training Next At as 13500 (if I remember correctly) which takes longer than necessary on the earlier trainings but won't break itself. Because if you don't have INA and you set the training Next At to a value that's too low, when it reaches the specified value and the next line isn't unlocked yet it just makes the clones go idle and the situation won't fix itself when the next training does unlock. But with INA you can set the training Next At value to 0 and it will always keep the extra clones working on the highest available line until the next one unlocks.

EDIT: Huh, the original topic here... This person was complaining that the game didn't seem idle enough but somehow at the same time the complaint comes across as if they're the type of player that would have been all about the super NON-idle speedrunner playstyle and that they would be annoyed at all the things that Ryu has added to the game over the years that are designed to encourage longer rebirths. (They should have been happy about when Ryu added "preselect Might" though. Assign some clones to the Might tab before it officially unlocks so that you can go AFK and the clones will start leveling Might as soon as it unlocks. Don't need to wait the full Might unlock time before that part of setting up in a new rebirth.)

That is literally exactly what the Improved Next At purchase does. If you have Improved Next At then all you have to do is set your Next At value to 500 or less(I just set it to 1) and it will automatically move clones when the next training unlocks.
