- Robot is essential to craft T4 equip;
- Chocobear is one of the best Adventurers, and with upgrade becomes much better;
- Ape becomes SuperApe and is very useful in some Infinity Towers;
- Dinosaur becomes a MONSTER in the same Towers, specially Earth;
- Pumpkin upgrade may help a lot to evolve Dino faster, but that's it;
- Gray, if evolved, will get another child and much more class XP;
- Corona is only useful with a Token;
- Earth Eater stops being useless at GP/Multi reset challenges;
- Donut helps in long term if you have a Refrigerator, but that's it;
- Rabbit is good to break certain walls at early dungeons, but that's it;
In early game, Rabbit and Donut would go to top.
Personally, my Ape and Robot aren't ready to be thrown out of growth chamber duty and class changed yet. (My 132k growth CL 39 Robot can still do more for growth camp than my 121k growth CL 21 Raiju (comparing with the same stick bonus). And for Ape's replacement... I guess my Unicorn is the strongest contender right now. And comparing my 132k growth CL 40 Ape vs my 100k growth CL 29 Unicorn (with same sticks of course), the Ape wins.) And I still need to work on T3 gear and I need to consider breaking into D3 dungeons for the first time, so I'm not even thinking about T4 gear or infinity towers yet. My Dino isn't evolved (it has about 1/4 of the needed growth and I only have 1/10 of the needed material) so I don't even see that token upgrade button. I don't have Gray unlocked yet (my highest P.Baal beaten is 80) so that upgrade isn't on the table for me.
But yeah...
- Ape's upgrade is a dungeon buff
- Chocobear is a powerful adventurer to start with and the upgrade makes it even stronger
- Robot's upgrade is a crafting buff
- Book's upgrade sounds like it ought to just be part of its default behavior but the upgrade makes it easier to use in quests without constantly changing its class
- I think a secret pet is supposed to have the same token upgrade as Book? (I have the pet unlocked but I'm not close to evolving it. I don't see the button for the upgrade.)
- Donut's upgrade reduces the BP cost to buy mighty food so you can even more easily stock up and never run out (but of course you need the fridge or it'll be wasted)
- Earth Eater's upgrade lets it start each rebirth with some minimum amount of camp bonus (based on total lifetime planets eaten) instead of starting at -80 or whatever it was
- technically the Living Draw can be upgraded with tokens (lots of tokens, not just one) to boost its item camp bonus, but it'd be a HUGE waste since you can get the same thing slowly over time from lucky draw results (whether tokened or won, each upgrade grants 5% until it reaches a maximum of 200%)
- Pumpkin's upgrade improves how much chocolate it can find, which helps it go from always supplying one pet (Gold Dragon) with chocolates to always having a supply of chocolates for multiple pets, and the upgrade also doubles the mighty food it finds (this is the part Luiz referenced as being helpful for the Dino's evo, since the Baby Dino when part of the food camp instantly eats half of all non-chocolate found in the food camp)
- Rabbit's upgrade helps it overcome a shortcoming in its dungeon performance compared to other early mages (but mages you can evolve later in the game will likely outperform all of those early mages)
- Corona's upgrade changes its negative camps to positive camps so it can be a fairly strong adventurer (I think it's supposed to be one of the best for endgame growth chamber, isn't it?)
Give a kind thought to Chocobear upgrade; It's a huge buff to GCs. If you already have it, either upgrading Ape or unlocking Ghost are good options; They both want Fire Equip and both help to raise the difficulty of Dungeons, plus they are useful in any of them (except Ape on Neutral Tower; that's a bad idea).
(Just for reference: at CL-51, equipped with Candy Cane SSS+20 mine gives a 457% reward in GC.)
- I'll second what luizpedronovak says about Robot and Ape (thx again for that T4 tip ;) )
- Pumpkin's upgrade is worthwhile, especially in the long run (got me thousands of chocolate). Same goes for Donut since you'll be buying hundreds of thousands of Mighty Food (look at the Tavern upgrade costs just to get a notion...).
- God Power Pet: You are going to have this one on your GP campaign permanently so that upgrade will pay off easily.
- Holy ITRTG Book seems worth it to me to comfortably use it as an allrounder on Tavern quests - if you leveled it accordingly high at least.
- That somehow secret 'WhoWho' pet becomes even more powerful and since you put a lot of effort into unlocking and evolving it you might just as well go all the way imo.
- Personally I'm not ready to swith Shark to assassin and am keeping it in GC with its +100% - unless there's a token upgrade coming as well. Instead the new Alien pet has become the most likely candidate to replace Penguin as a water assassin on my dungeon teams so I don't see that happening any time soon...
I think my favorite token upgrade would be Gray (and one to save stones/token when you're close to evo) because it is literally another pet and one which can be freely changed to be of any element in one of 5 classes (Assassin, Supporter, Rogue, Mage, Defender) with 0.8% per class level bonus. That is useful for filling holes in dungeon, RTI and tavern quests.
