30 Second Pause before each fight on Steam Deck

Hello,

I made it to the first town and do enjoy the game and combat however, on the steam deck there is at least a 30 second pause in the transition between the explore screen and the fight screen. I was hoping this was only on the first map so pushed through but it continues. I have tried running the game on Proton GE, Proton Experimental, Proton Hotfix, and Proton 8,7,6,3 with no luck. Any suggestions or is this just how it will be?
