White Day: A Labyrinth Named School

White Day: A Labyrinth Named School

White Chrysanthemum Ending help!
Trying to get this ending is a huge pain in the butt! I mean... what the heck do I have to do? I already followed a guide step by step and I still only got Ivy. This is the guide I used:

"You have to always pick the friendliest answer when talking to her and agree with her.
One choice that can screw you up, where you have to ask her, if she has any evidence at the new building.
Also, when So-Young is with you go straight to where she wants you to be. Don't loiter around, or she gets mad. That can screw you out of the ending.

I've worked with some other guys to get the endings and we confirmed the following for the White ending:

So-Young Route

Scene with Seong-A after leaving 2-8
Left-Right-Left-Right
Scene with So-Young right after last one
Left-Left

Scenes with So-Young after picking up Faculty Office 2 Key
Left-Left-Right
Scene with Seong-A after using Earth Token on door in Main Building 2 2F
Left

Scene with So-Young after entering New Building
Left-Left-Left

After scene in Faculty Lounge talk to So-Young with a Coffee in your inventory to give it to her. Once again for dialogue choices
Left-Left

Scene with So-Young in History Room
Left

Scene with So-Young after getting Blue Keycard
Right

[MANUAL SAVE AFTER WINNING BOSS FIGHT IN AUDITORIUM, BUT BEFORE PUTTING IN FIRE TOKEN AND WITHOUT TALKING TO SO-YOUNG]

Don't talk to So-Young and continue the game to the end = White Crysanthemum Ending
Talk to So-Young 5 times and continue the game to the end = Ivy Ending
At the Bottomless Pit simply leave So-Young behind = Hyacinth Ending"

Did aaaaaaaaaaall that and STILL only got Ivy. Was it because I played on Very easy for this one? I just wanted to rush through it for the ending. Im as fast as lightning now, dont even care about janitors anymore as I beat the game in 1 hour 20 minutes, but I cant get this dumb ending! I have beaten the game on every difficulty at least once so far, just wanted to harvest the other endings real quick. So please, if anyone knows what I did wrong please let me know. And no, I did NOT try to look under their skirts.

Maybe the problem is when you're following her or she's following you. I've noticed that if you make her wait even a little bit, chances are that you'll get Ivy, so be careful.

In practice I mean, for example, that part when you follow her to Faculty Office 2, and she stops by the door and waits for you to open it. If she says something like "weren't you going to help" or something similar, you took too long to open it and may have screwed it up. But that's easy to deal with, just go straight to the objective and get there before her (of course, do what you have to do, like using the key or whatever, but do it before she asks), this will trigger the cutscene and won't negatively affect the affection. Same for the other "follow" or "be followed" parts, just go straight to the point.

In the beggining I was afraid that making her run would reduce the affection, but apparently it doesn't (I got WC ending 2 times even though I made her run a lot, so don't mind that)

If you're already doing that, I don't really know what you're doing wrong, since the answers seems to be correct... I'll confirm that later when I get back to the game, but I think it's correct.

For the sections where So-Young is following you, try to beeline to wherever she wanted to go. It'll trigger the next cut-scene as long as you reach there.

Another point to note is, to NEVER interact with her at all throughout the playthrough, EXCEPT for the part where you return her diary and to give her the coffee. Just to be save.

Good luck with getting the ending. If you encounter any issues, feel free to ask and I'll try to help.

Have fun!

But there are 5 circles on WC, which means you will have to beat it on every difficulty to get 100%.

I can confirm that this is indeed false, as I first got my White Chrysanthemum on Very Easy.
It is indicated by the 5 dots per ending, each representing the difficulties from Very easy, Easy, Normal, Hard and lastly Hell.

I also confirm that this information is wrong, you can get all endings on all difficulties (and you need to do it in order to complete the ending collection).

Maybe you're confusing with the original 2001 game, I remember it having some unattainable endings on lower difficulties.

Here from 5 yeras in the future.
wait a minute, so you are telling me that if i dont follow step by step this guide i wont get the ending? and even if i do, there is a chance i dont get it anyway because maybe i took 1/2 a second to long?
i was expecting that key conversations decided the ending, not every breath i take

People are really exaggerating, just choose the right choices, that if I remember correctly, the choices are: Give her the diary, LIE to her for some reason and follow the sound instead of Seong-a. Do that and you will get the ending. Just follow the right route and you'll be fine. Also don't be a pervert. :p4g_love:

I even tested again waiting a while to open doors, leaving her behind and everything and still got the White Chrysanthemum ending, so maybe that was an error and they fixed in a patch or something? I know it' been way easier to get the ending later after launch...

What exacly does this game base on to decide what ending to give?

I'm not 100% sure how it works since it's not explicitly clarified to you in the game, but it does have some kind of affection meter for each character, so the routes you take + the choices you make (or at least some key choices, since some appear to only change dialogue and not the ending) are the main things to affect your ending.

Some minor things like being a pervert and well, "interacting" with the girls skirts also lower your affection meter, and I THINK there's something for dying too much but I might be mistaken for some other game, since I didn't play this one in a while.
Anyway, main things are choices and routes. :seikowink:

Played 2 times, 1st blind, 2nd with this guide, 1st time i got blue balled because my possible endings left me with more questions than answers, and now i did get some answers, but did not get the ending I was actively trying to get.
