White Day: A Labyrinth Named School

White Day: A Labyrinth Named School

Is Janitor the main threat in the game?
I only played about an hour but I already find the janitor completely non scary and annoying to deal with.
Can't believe he limps but somehow still dashes like it's nobodys business.
He also always finds you everywhere if you sprint for a second and he sees you from miles away.
It's really not an enjoyable threat to deal with. Especially when there's almost no place to actually hide except the bathroom.
Don't even get me started about the corny ghost jumpscare that pops up randomly.
The cheapest horror mechanic you can ever have.

TL;DR how do I deal with the janitor to make him a little less of a nuisance than he is and is he the main threat of the game?

Yes, he's the main threat until you reach a boss - there are many throughout the game. If you find it non scary and annoying I suggest you refund the game since you played only an hour because it clearly is not the game for you.

Play on Hard and not on very easy perhaps ?

You need to play the HARD mode in order to see all the 20 ghosts from the game. Since you play the hard mode, the janitor will be harder too.
The Janitor may be annoying for some players but for others it keep the atmosphere of stress. If would play all this game without the Janitor I wouldn't enjoy the horror ambience as the janitor gives me when I'm exploring through the school.

Any tips for the Janitor, hmmm
Don't run when he's not close to you. I'm pretty sure you may be at Main Building 1-2 now but listen, only use the sprint button when you see him. When you see the Janitor try to hide behind a desk or something. If he saw you run to a bathroom. While you run to the bathrooms, on your way to the halls you will go through the doors. Close those doors really fast so it will take him around 2-3 seconds to open it and follow you. After you arrive at a bathroom, close the main door and then WALK inside there DON'T RUN. The mechanic is working in a way where the Janitor stops where the running sound stopped. So walk into a toilet cabin and close the door and wait there until he leaves (the background music helps you).
Now listen, let's say that you are at the floor 1 but your business are at floor 2. If you see the Janitor at the same floor with you just run to the floor 2 and after you close some doors just start walking because somehow he will stop where the sound of running stopped. If he still chases you just go to the bathrooms and hide like i said earlier.

The key to succes to beat the Janitor is to know how the mechanics works and how you should act. At the New Building it will be easier for you to escape from him because you can bring him to the Histori Room (1st floor) and you can sneak back to the first floor without seeing you. After that you will gain a time to do your work. When he comes back repeat the same process.

I hope you won't refund the game because of the Janitor. There are 20 GHOSTS on HARD mode and they are damn scary. Wish you good luck playing it

Yeah I'll play on hard when I'm having problems on normal. That makes sense.

@Exit Done I think I already saw one ghost who was basically a jpeg sprite that came up to me and jumpscared. Are all the ghosts like that?
Cause that just makes me paranoid since I hate pop up scares like that. Thanks for the tips though.

Yeah almost all ghosts are about cheap jumpscares, this game blows, as every korean product.

Based on your complaints, I'd suggest trying the original White Day. No fullscreen jumpscares and the janitor seems to be more bearable. And when you get to the New Building, you can get him stuck near some stairs and he won't bother you. :p

Or maybe try the original, I never tried it, but I heard it is free.

Yep, it's available for free on ModDB.

You'll need to use a program called Locale Emulator to get it running properly. Pretty sure there are a couple guides on that floating around. Pretty simple though.

Will do. Thanks for telling me.

The janitors AI is terrible. absolutely terrible. if you get attacked by the floatin head ghost, it instantly alerts the janitor to where you are. The janitor also once out of line of sight and a distance away will despawn, but will have a chance to spawn near you if you use a light, or run.

The janitor also cannot be hid from in anything but the toilets, if you try to hide in the darkness of a room, he will see you the second he enters the room.

Its not a matter of being difficult, its a matter of being such poor AI that its artificially hard.

I was in the 2nd floor and for some reason the background music changed and I saw from a window this guy running from the main floor to the 2nd towards me for no reason, I wasn't even running. Is this guy scripted or what?
