Cartridge games still crashing.
So, running Win10, and even testing in the arcade builder tool, the cartridge stuff (not the GameBros, those work fine) continues to crash the program. I do have the saved log, and will provide the PasteBin link.

I am even using the latest RetroArch cores, if anyone may suggest that.

Could you elaborate on what emulation core and what game you are trying to play?

That was fast, Vermillion! Well, it doesn't matter which core I use. I've tried bnes, bsnes, picodrive, and mgba (which are the known working ones). It always crashes with the same errors shown in the log.

disconnect your joystick, and use only your keyboard.. and report.. if the error continues..

I'm not sure what his Joystick has to do with the issue.

I did however notice this line here

[2017.12.22-19.26.35:483][507]Arcade: Couldn't map object (Cartridge_Street) name to arcade object data...

Are you adding your ROMs correctly in the Arcade Builder? If you open up your ArcadeCartridges.JSON file in a text editor such as notepad you should see something like this.

{ "ID": "CartridgeShelfRight2_5i031s", "GameName": "F-Zero", "Game": "F-Zero (USA).sfc", "Core": "bsnes_performance_libretro.dll", "Texture": "snes_fzero.png", "Colour": "#000000" },

The Picodrive core doesn't work with NRA:N under Win10.
Seth Arkada Dec 24, 2017 @ 4:34pm
Stupid question, but where are the JSON files located at?
Vermillion Dec 24, 2017 @ 4:55pm
Ah, my bad. They are located at "steamapps\common\New Retro Arcade Neon\NewRetroArcade\Content"

I found it. I also installed fresh to a different drive for some of my larger Steam games. The crash no longer happens, but the TV just shows the logo when I plug in a cartridge I created.

Again, I'll ask what core and ROMs you are using. Is this just with one particular game or all cores?

Have you extracted the files to their proper formats?

Sorry about that, Vermillion. So far, the incompatible games I've tried (and cores tested wtih) are as follows:

Metroid Fusion (USA Australia).gba (mGBA)
Final Fantasy II (USA) (Rev 1).sfc (bSNES Balanced, bSNES Performance, SNES9x)
Super Mario Bros. (JU) (PRG1).nes (bNES, Nestopia)
Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow (USA).gba (mGBA)
Zelda II - The Adventure of Link (USA).nes (bNES, Nestopia)
Road Rash II (USA Europe) (v1.2).md (Genesis Plus GX)
Bomberman (USA).pce (Mednafen PCE Fast)
SideArms - Hyper Dyne (USA).pce (Mednafen PCE Fast)
Duck Tales (U).nes (bNES, Nestopia)

are just examples of numerous games I'm not having luck with. I'm wondering what happened between the previous version and the current for such things to happen? Am I not formatting my filenames right?
Vermillion Dec 27, 2017 @ 3:42pm
I will state that Genesis/MegaDrive titles won't work in NRA:N. Something about the cores is causing them to not function properly.

As for the rest of the titles, are the cores themselves extracted to dll format? I would also suggest making the filenames for the roms simple just in case that is the issue
Seth Arkada Dec 27, 2017 @ 4:09pm
They are indeed extracted to dll format. In fact, I run RetroArch separately to download the latest version of the cores, and copy those to the Emulators folder.

Another oddity is that if I use the included New Retro Arcade: BuilderEx, the games are not functioning in the preview. If I try it via a user's Arcade Manager program, the games (save any Genesis/MegaDrive ones), they work just fine. I'm REALLY confused now.
Vermillion Dec 27, 2017 @ 9:11pm
The test map has a bug in regards to the filenames. It doesn't like spaces. It's on a list I'll give to Dec once the holidays are over.
Seth Arkada Dec 28, 2017 @ 7:25am
Ok. Thank you. I just tested it with Pac-Mania for the NES, and can confirm BuilderEx's test map works fine with it. However, that one user's Arcade Manager seems to still work with spaces in the filename when it fires up the test map. Really bizarre, that.

Unrelated, but special cabinet type seems to not utilize a simulated vertical screen in the new NRAN, and Arcade Builder's test map just crashes when testing. BuilderEx is fine, but just has a square screen. (Will make new thread for that if needed.)
