Listing Mame 3D Arcade Games That Work for New Retro Arcade
i was born in the mid 80's and grew up on 3d arcade games by Sega / Namco and Midaway ect and with great emulators like Model 2 by Nebula and the Model 3 emulator by Bart you can play great Sega arcade games at home.. But sadly Nebula's model 2 emulator is closed source and Barts model 3 emulator is open source but not converted by libretro as a core to use in New Retro Arcade Neon which means we only have Mame as an emulator for arcade games.. BUT Mame is not great for 3d arcade games so i thought we could list here 3d arcade games people know work on Mame to use in New Retro Arcade Neon..

UPDATE TO LIST 21/08/2016 @ 4.23PM
Here is the list of 3D arcade games below that work or are more than playable with little problems that i found.. And thanks to Vermillion and Tenka for adding to the list..
More will added when new ones are found and tested

Air Combat 22
Aqua Jet
Beast Buster Second Nightmare
Cyber Cycle
Dirt Dash
Prop Cycle

Ive got both Starblade and Wingwar working .. however they both have control issues related to how NRAN sends its controls to the emulator. Since Starblade is a gun-game, playing it on controller or keyboard is really frustrating, and Wingwar for some reason has the pitch axis reversed .. I think it can be solved by reversing pitch in NRAN but switching it back and forth for every game would be such a pain.

I actually got Mortal Kombat 4 to boot, but on my machine it is painfully slow. Granted, my machine is rather old, so I'm sure others may have better mileage.

Thank you very much Tenka And Vermillion i will give those games a try myself.. Im going to test a wide range of 3d arcade games with Mame on NRAN and if i find anymore that work then i will update the post :)

A great way to find more games is to compare the hardware that the games use. For instance, Time Crisis uses the NAMCO Super System 22 hardware. By extension, these games should work fine as well

Hunting for games that play in 3D has been a bit of a crusade of mine as well. I've found that games that used Playstation based hardware run at fullspeed. They just don't render correctly sadly because of the resolution.

Yeah im having a render issue i mean ive just tried alot of Namco's Super System 22 arcade games and most are good so will update the list BUT Namco's System 12 arcade games do work on Mame but when in NRAN the picture is all messed and does it on all Namco System 12 games but the pictures fine in Mame which is a big shame becouse there alot of really good arcade games there

I've been going through a bunch of games and have the folloing working. This list is beyond the common working games that most people have (Ms. Pac Man, Dig Dug, Mr. Do!, Qbert, etc.)
Zaxxon
Donkey Kong Jr.
NBA Jam
Tecmo Bowl
Lethal Enforcers
Alpine Racer 2
Star Wars Trilogy
Emergency Call Ambulance (runs with internittent freezes)

I'll add more as I test

We're looking for 3D games. Those are mostly 2D games.

I wouldn't mind a full comprehensive list of all roms (2d and 3d) that work.

Thank you for the contribution drhotwing1 but as Vermillion said this discussion is setup for people to add and work together to help build a libary of known working 3d arcade games that run on mame and work with NRAN..
And Trigger_Trim id say the best thing to do is what ive done and setup a new discussion in general discussions making a list of games that work so you and others can add to it :)

Not a problem at all , I'm interested in seeing what others add :)

If you all wanted to do a general compatability list, I think a fair way of doing it would be to setup a Google Doc spreadsheet and create a form to go along with it where people could insert the name of a game and and issues they may have ran into.

Back to 3D games, I actually got Cruisin' USA to boot, but I can't get past the calibration screen because it requires a special input that is unique to the hardware.

Sega's ST-V system will actualy boot into the BIOS for that system, but the game I tried, Die Hard Arcade, crashed. Not sure why exactly. I might try a 2D game from that system and see how it fairs.

EDIT: Tried Power Instinct 3 - Groove on Fight. Works just fine!l! The initial BIOS screen is glitched to hell, but once you get in the game it plays perfectly. This gives me hope :D
EDIT2: Guess not. Radiant Silvergun and Virtua Fighter Kids both failed to boot. I guess it has to do with the video modes.

Vermillion, you said you got mk4 to boot. What core were you using, and did it need any special configuration?
