Help Simpsons 2 player arcade

i have the 4 player version working but can only play as marge
from what i understand i need to add the 2 player clone files to make all characters selectable

I have followed some guides but just cant get it to work the rom either loads as the 4 player one or is corrupt

Can anyone offer any guidance

Can I get the exact filenames of both your 4-player version and the 2-player version?

You'll need to have both romsets in your ROM folder. In NRA:N you need to select the 2-player version to be loaded.

4 player is simpsons.zip and 2 player is simpsons2p.zip

i belived i had to swop some files over from the 2p.zip and put them in the simpsons.zip is this wrong?

No, you don't need to open the zip files and copy the ROMs over. MAME doesn't see the ROMsets like that.

You just need to have the untouched zipfiles in the same directory.

how do i tell it to use the 2 player virsion when they are in the same folder?

You just need to select the 2-Player rom in the Arcade Builder. So instead of picking simpsons.zip, you'd pick simpsons2p.zip

thanks working fine now wish i asked on here first spent 2 days trying to follow guids on line on how to merge the roms when i never had two
