also if you attempt to do this be warned that you will have to also change player 1's controls as well otherwise you might be controlling 2 or more characters at once by mistake
one final advice is set up the controller for who you want to be then change player 1's controls so you'll be able to gain acess to it easily later just in case hope this helps
Some of these multiplayer machine you'd pick the player based on what coin slot you put your coin in. You can also hit tab and change inputs (this machine) to map a different coin slot to the start button. But it's usually just easier to use the rom meant for a 2 player cabinet, because those usually let you pick your player after you put a coin in.
Also its pretty cool using the DS4 touchpad to move the camera around.
