How do I change characters in Gauntlet?

Are the others for Multiplayer only or is there a button or config I need to use in order
to change the character from the default warrior? I am using a 360 controller fyi. The only buttons that work on the start screen is the one that gives extra health and the start button.

As far as I know the only 2 ways to play as the other characters is via multiplayer or possibly pushing tab and then going to input controls for this game and change the player 2's 3's etc's controls to player 1's this is the same for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle's or Simpson's games as well

also if you attempt to do this be warned that you will have to also change player 1's controls as well otherwise you might be controlling 2 or more characters at once by mistake

one final advice is set up the controller for who you want to be then change player 1's controls so you'll be able to gain acess to it easily later just in case hope this helps

There's a few different Gauntlet Roms. Use a rom that says 2 players.

Some of these multiplayer machine you'd pick the player based on what coin slot you put your coin in. You can also hit tab and change inputs (this machine) to map a different coin slot to the start button. But it's usually just easier to use the rom meant for a 2 player cabinet, because those usually let you pick your player after you put a coin in.

Do you think plugging in a second controller would work?Changing inputs didn't seem to.

yes that would work and if you want to play as 3 or 4 you would need to add those controllers as well

I haven't actually tried that myself as I don't have a PS4 or even PS3 or it's Controllers but I did see in the options that Playstation Controls apper to be compatiable when you go to options in the main arcade machine

I use DS4Windows myself, it works great.

Just wanted to say I got the second controller working! I wanted to see if the characters were any different. The only difference from the Warrior that the Valkyrie has which I can tell is shes a bit faster. Too bad I don't have any more controllers to try the other 2.

Also its pretty cool using the DS4 touchpad to move the camera around.
