I'm wondering if the Arcade game by Midway happens to work at all I've tried multiple versions of this game and I just seem to crash every time I have the CHD'S but still no luck please help

I could be wrong but i recall someone saying games that require the CHD's do not work.

Actually that is incorrect. CHD games do work, you just need to set them up in a specific manner because of the various quirks that MAME has.

Simply create a new folder in NRA:N's ROM folder that shares the name of the games zip ROM and place the CHD file inside.

Just went and tested the game. Seems to be working fine. You may need to rename your CHD file to "wargods_10-09-1996.chd" and depending on your ROM, you may also need tms32031.zip in your ROMs folder. If your ZIP rom has c31boot.bin inside, then you don't need to worry about it.

That's strange dispite the fact that I need to put CHD's in another folder after already being in the rom folder it's self I have a number of CHD games that don't need another file in the rom folder with the files name that work fine for example Killer Instinct 1 and 2

I've checked the Zip and it has the c31boot.bin in it and I have the tms32031.zip file even renamed the wargods.chd to wargods_10-09-1996.chd as well as point it in a wargods folder when I go to the machine tho I just get a fatel error and then game quits out

Could I please see how you've entered the game into the Arcade Builder? And what do you mean by games that don't need another file in the rom folder?

you mentioned about the CHD in the rom folder needing another folder sharing the name of the games Zip folder I did that the games zip is wargods.zip so I made a wargods folder and put the CHD file that was renamed wargods_10-09-1996.chd in there

Edit: Okay I actually did get the game to boot finally however unforunatly the sound volume seems to be unable to change I tried do so with the slider controls but no luck
I even went to dipswitch and attempted to do test switch like can be done with other Midway games but to no avail it just does the boot up screen...

You can find the volume adjustment by pressing the F2 key on your keyboard.
