'Bruisin' USA crashing NRA:N

Hate to be a noob when it comes to modding this game but 'Bruisin' USA (Racing Game) seems to consistently crash the game each time, I'm fairly sure I'm using the right ROM files, I'm using the Arcade Manager (https://steamcommunity.com/app/465780/discussions/0/343786746006038700/). It's using mame2014 and many of the other cabinets don't have this problem.

The rom zip I'm currently using is crusnusa.zip from emuparadise, they only have one version with no parent roms from what I saw.

Ah, annoyingly enough, Cruis'n USA is one of those games that requires a extra file that is specific to the hardware that the game ran on. c31boot.bin, also known as tms32031.zip is the file you need. Just place the zip file in the ROMS folder like you would with any other parent ROM.

Do bear in mind that Cruis'n USA requires calibration in order to boot. Thankfully I have a pre-calibrated NVRAM file for this issue. Just extract the mame2014 folder inside the zip to the ROMs directory and overwrite when asked. If you ever wish to calibrate it yourself, I suggest using a standalone install of MAME.

Awesome thanks! Hopefully that fixes some other rom issues, I think one other has crashed the game but I haven't gotten to thoroughly test it since I randomize the arcade each time.

Most of the time is is jsut due to a missing dependency, such as the QSound Audio Drivers for Capcom Play System II games or the Neo-Geo BIOS. Feel free to list whatever games are giving you issues and I'll gladly see what you might be missing.

Hmm that zip and NVRAM calibration didn't seem to work, do I need to do anything else other than pasting both into roms?
If I recall correctly avsp.zip crashed my game in the same fashion as crusnusa.zip

Hmm, coulda swore that Cruis'n USA would work with that method. I'll have to look into it tomorrow for you. That being said, with Aliens versus Predator, you'll be wanting qsound.zip since it is a CPSII game.

Just to double check, when you copied over tms32031.zip, did you extract it? It should be treated like a normal MAME rom so it should remain as a ZIP file. The same goes for qsound.zip. Just drop that into the ROMS folder and it should be good to go.

I didn't extract the TMS but I did for the calibration like you said.

I use RomCenter to verify everything is in place. I used that on Cruisn'USA and everything seems to work fine for me. I had to do the calibration as you say, but otherwise works fine.

Huh, I reinstalled the mame stuff and the rom and now it works fine! Next on the list however is RaveRacer or raveracw.zip xD that one crashed my game last.

Ah a Namco System 22 title. A fair number of Namco titles need some extra files, but the one specific to Rave Racer is "namcoc74.zip" Just place the ZIP file into your ROMs folder and the game should boot just fine after that.

Do you know if Hydro Thunder (hydrthnd.zip) will need any special zips with it?

A typical Mame emulator claims to need the CHD which I've acquired but not sure if and where to put for the arcade.
