Getting Mame sound samples and artwork into the cabinets
01. Sound Samples:
Many of the games especially early Cinematronic titles like Rip Off and Armor Attack have sound samples. Has anyone figured out a place to put the samples folder that works or another means to adding the samples.

02. Artwork:
Many of the cabinets have additional art in the background called the inner bezel and or shroud and some are is even further back in the cabinet or attached to the monitor itself.
Space Invaders is an excellent example of this as the moon sits behind the re-flexed image of the invaders.
Discs of Tron has many art files that come together to create the original environment.
Games such as Sky Diver and Turbo have art that lights up
Mame handles these titles in different ways depending on the lay file included in the artwork folder. I have not been able to find a location to place the artwork folder that Mame recognizes while running in retro arcade.

Only Spy Hunter as far as I know has managed to create a bezel that lights up for the various weapons.

Can either of these folders be placed inside New retro arcade Neon so that Mame see's them and can use them or does the mame.dll file not allow for it?

I know it is possible to use specific game artwort for games that use it, but the method for doing so escapes me entirely. Sorry about that. Try and get in touch with Jason. I'll link his Steam Profile below. He knows more about MAME's artwork functionality than I do. He might also be able to answer your question about sound samples.

You could also try asking in the discord and seeing if anyone there might know.

Thanks. I'll follow up on that. I did not see a way to send Jason a message so guess I have to wait for the friend invite. Standard Mame creates the samples and artwork folders as well as the roms folder so one would guess that you could place the samples folder in with the roms but it's not that simple.

I redid/resized Spy Hunter for NRA and found this useful:

There seems to be a whole new level in Mame for simulating calls from roms, but how to find them that seems to be the trick.
