Just be on point and double click a portrait if you have to to make sure which character is selected. I am biased a little as I often run with a disparity on my crew ... meaning I am always forced to ensure who is selected for optimal loot. On occasion I get what you are talking about and the game fools me.
I find this often happens when a merc gets "KOed" ... and there is this lame ass delay before the team can do anything while they are standing up. Sometimes that fallen merc becomes the selected team member even though it shows another highlighted. I will just be "anal" and double click the portrait after such an even to make sure, before I loot, who is actually selected for real lol.
We agree it is lame, but "whatever" .... I cannot make any excuses for it ... and my not being a coder/computer scientist cannot be blamed either .... ala "can you do better?" lol.
We hear that defense a lot on game development these days right? "We should be so grateful" lol. What a fallacy. So many excuses these days eh?
Also do not feel so obligated ... you paid to be here.
