1) There is no respec at this time. It's on my list to look into. For now, you can pick a focus and put stats into that.
Melee = STR, AGI and DEX
Ranged = DEX, PER and AGI
INT has an effect on the speed at which you level.
2) I suggest doing the FTL quest first, then the facility where you can take missions and every time you take a new mission, the entire dungeon gets reset. There are infinite random missions once you get your FTL drive. Every station in the universe has a faction agent that issues them. Once you complete the FTL mission, that is the end of the story for now -however, you can continue to play the sandbox as long as you like.
You can also adjust the difficulty level down in the options until you have better gear from the facility and the FTL quest line.
3) Merchants restock every time you enter the station (or reload a save game). There are no respawns in the game other than in the facility when you take a new mission. The universe is so large that you could play for the next 90 years and not run out of missions ;) Agents just keep generating them.
One more thing, about the upcoming crafting, should I keep the "junk" item? Are they part of the crafting system? I tried sell all junk option, thinking it'd sell all in my inventory (but not stash) - but it sell those item in both.
