Stuck at a mission
Hi all!

I have a problem with the research facility missions.
The guy at the staging ground gave me a mission to eliminate some high priority target inside the facility, so I have cleared out the whole building. But the mission was not completed. Went bact to the mission gaver and he told me that I still have work to do.

Long story short, is there any way to decline an ongoing mission? If not, can you implement this feature in to the game?

Thanks!

You are sure that you clear all rooms? high level target (two gold dots npc) usually is somewhere in last area (short missions) . Medium and long mission got much bigger map so it may be everywhere. Check exits on each minimap cell, you propably missed one.
That was a small missions with about 5 rooms and some smaller corridors. I have ran arount several times to make sure not to miss anything. There were 2 gusy which was differ from the other NPCs, I have killed them in the middle of the mission.
I did plenty of short-medium missions with high-level targets, never had any problems with completing but they always died from shots/hits or any other direct damage. Maybe some weird situation happend? like he/she died from bleeding/poison or any other unusual reason?

One of them was blown up from a critical shotgun hit, the other died by a regular hit on the torso.
If mission map are line-based (only two exits on each map cell excluding last cell) and you killed 2-dots npc in last area, then i don't know what could happend. If target dies from critical hit doesnt matter, he still is count as killed by you...
Anyway, mission "in progress" decline wouldbe nice (in future with faction standing loss for example)
And i'am talking about areas not rooms, short missions are usually with 2-3 areas each area counts few rooms and corridors. Exit to each area is a targetable computer on the wall. Perhaps you're still in first mission area?

yes that woud be nice or any way to restart a single mission/encounter(i know there is an autosave when I enter the complex). I will try to find the save for this mission after I get home from work, maybe this will be the solution for now.

Hi Stemi - first, thank you for supporting the game during EA. My apologies for the issue with the mission not completing. If you don't mind and you have a little time, please send me your saves before abandoning the mission (see below) and I'll look into the problem. Instructions can be found here:

You can abandon a mission. If you have the translocator, translocate back to the staging area near Zabin Morbain. If not, you will need to walk out of the facility. Once in the staging area, try to turn in the mission. If Zabin won't talk to you, open the log [L] key and highlight the current mission. You will see a button with red "ABANDON" text in the active missions area. That will decline the mission and allow you to take other missions.
heres another thing-confusion about rooms and maps, each mission has many maps { to travel too } once a map is clear it goes green on top right of hud, each map has many rooms and corridors ect.

it sounds to me like stemi is only on the first map of an area that has a few rooms and so on and hasnt traveled to the other areas yet.
Well, I got a similar mission. There were 9 different rooms. I worked through 6-7 of them. Only one turned green showing it was clear. No matter how often I wandered around in those not cleared there were no further NPCs. I finally gave up and walked out, although doing that was a trial since there was no real map guide. When I talked to Zabin he said I had completed the mission. What's up with that? I took another mission to find fuel cells. Only 4 rooms this time. These were clearly shown in each room. I cleared them all, eh, viola, mission complete. I gather I can keep doing these. Since it appears there's no other mission, no way to get an FTL drive, until the next patch, I assume that's all there is one can do so far.

Hi wm.j.olson - Eliminate missions only require you to defeat the high level enemy, though you will need to search for the target. Areas that do not have the target will not turn green when cleared and clearing all the rooms for that mission type is not required to complete the mission. However, once you defeat the high level enemy, the area you are in will turn green on the map and you will get a message on the screen to turn the mission in. I believe the log is also updated.

All other mission types give you a green area indicator when all items are gathered or you have defeated all enemies in that area.

You can get the trans-locator for free from the merchant next to Zabin. Equipping it in a device slot lets you instantly teleport back to the area where you get missions from Zabin. No need to walk back out of the facility if you have the device. The facility should be a one way trip with no back-tracking necessary.

You can keep gathering tokens in the facility forever if you like and purchase high quality armor from the merchant next to Zabin to gear your team up.

You should be able to purchase the FTL drive from Phestus, though you cannot travel beyond the FTL gates at this time.

Tried buying the FTL drive. Phestus had no response to let me do so, so I went back to Zabin. I will try Phestus again. The high-level mission target did turn green, but it was not clear until this note that that was the case. Thanks.
And, if i do get the drive, is there any way to do mining in the current area to get experience and earn credits?
yes, there is at least one ore belt in Achmedius system, it is not fastest way to get lot of credits but it is still quite profitable.
How to find the ore belt?

Hi there,

just check your planet list when in space (top left corner of the screen), scroll down until you see a planet name followed by the extension A.F.(Asteroid Field).
Selecting the planet will give you a directional arrow that point to it's location, pressing approach will automaticaly set course to the destination.
Don't forget to accelerate and use the micro warp (press R while not in a gravity well) to reach your target much faster.
