Combat Close range vs Mid to Long Range
I find long range and mid rang completely useless. Enemys close in to fast and i can get to enemys very quickly. That means ill always be using close combat weapons of some sort. Unless close combat ammo runs out. Hit percentages are way off as well. Hitting the head should be harder and give a damage bonus. There should be some way to balance this so long range weapons and mid range come in handy other than firing them once or twice then switching to close range.

Thanks for supporting the game and posting feedback newtonbe.

Ranged weaponry comes into play when you can stun ranged enemies with grenades and by assigning perks to higher level skills. It's also a closing tactic knocking HP off melee enemies that are closing on you. Most of the enemies in the game right now are melee - that changes with KZ-MR7.

This will all get tuned over time.

Use rifles for long to medium. They work perfectly. At close it says they have a good chance but will oftem miss more than Smg's or pistols. I have not yet got my hands on heavy weapons yet but am sure they will fill a medium roll. A higher Agi, Dex and Percept give you good range, damage and speed when using rifles and by the time they reach me, one is usually dead and his buddies have some holes in them, where a SMG finishes them off. I do use melee but only to lvl up the skill. I do agree that the smg and pistol range should be a little greater than what it is though. Insted of 0% chance to hit, it should have atleast a chance to hit at medium.

I also Noticed that the burst function on the weapons didnt add that much damage for the AP cost and ammo cost. I do the most damage by using standard pistols rushing to somewhat close range and using low cost AP single pistol shots over and over. That seems to do the most damage in the amount of time.... fastest way of killing off enemies much more OP than using burst or anything else it seems. of course i only got to see the first 20 odd levels of each of the main combat skills...till the proluge ended. so maybe over time with stat and higher skills levels burst may become useful.

Yes, with a rifle skill (still low) with a skill of 10 to 20 you start to see improvements on burst damage and hit although I still use single with most shots unless I have max ammo

you also lvl up skills faster that have a burst atk weapon, the rifle skill for the doc guy went up way faster in my last playthru useing only burst fire because i was drowning in ammo for rifle for some reason and he was at 11 rifle skill by the time i left the mine,

in previous games i only single shot and he only just got 10-12 rifle skill by the last fight so that also counts for lvl ups as they are tied to improves not just killing exp of mobs and meant that he wasnt nearly 2 lvls behind the chick doc and my own char which helps alot.
