Here is another small update on the current state of Andromeda, along with some information about the restriction in China.

Over the past few days, I have been working on the model library, and I can now show you what it currently looks like.

The design is not final, just like many other parts of Andromeda, but my first goal was to make the library clearer and easier to navigate. I think it has definitely become much more organised now :D
The redesigned cards make it easier to see important information about each model at a glance. Manufacturer logos have also been added, making it much easier to recognise where each model comes from.

I contacted Valve Support regarding the release of Andromeda in China, and unfortunately, I received some bad news.

Because Andromeda supports many different AI models, the restriction will remain in place. The regulatory situation depends on the individual models. Some model families, such as Qwen, appear to meet the relevant requirements, while many others currently do not.

Handling this separately across the entire model library would be an immense and extremely complicated task for me as a solo developer.

I have also been thinking about the release date of the next update.

From August 2, new transparency requirements under the EU AI Act will apply. Among other things, users must be clearly informed when they are interacting with an AI system.

The required notice has already been implemented and translated into all 22 supported languages. This means that the next update should be released by August 2.

Either I manage to finish everything currently on my list by then, or some of the remaining improvements will follow a little later. At the moment, however, I am making good progress and have already completed the major changes as well as several smaller improvements.

Depending on how much I manage to finish, the next version will therefore either be 0.6.9 or 0.7.0.

I wanted to show you what I’m currently working on. Everything mentioned here will be included in the next update.

First of all, the Supporter Pack is getting an upgrade.

You will be able to create your own UI design, or simply continue using the presets you are already familiar with.

I’m also actively working on fixing a few bugs in the chats that I have found.
In addition, you will finally get proper code blocks that highlight code and allow you to copy everything at once. This means you will no longer have to copy the code line by line.

At the moment, I do not know exactly when the update will be released.
It may arrive by the end of the month, but August at the latest.

There is still a little more work to do, as I also want to redesign the model library and make it clearer and easier to navigate.
