"End game" progression
Loving the game so far. Made it to the last level and now the game has changed, which I understand. I've gotten to the point where I can revisit old levels, but it doesn't seem to do me much good?

I played through the Aztec world, even managing to rack up a 90 combo at one point. I went back to the last stage, fought all three mini-bosses, got to the last boss, died (after half his health just...comes back, not fun) and then for a reward of my 30 minute run I got...one skill point? I need more health to beat that dude. Most of the other upgrades aren't much good in the last world since the enemies don't drop ink. But as it stands now, I'll never be able to upgrade my health since I need at least four points to do so now.

Thanks for the feedback. It helps, as we are actively looking into the game's balance.

Remember, that you can redistribute your skill points at will. You can switch your build for getting more ink, and try to get as much ink in a run as you can (further comic books drop more of it), also selecting items, that help you get more black ink. For the final confrontation, you can then change the skill distribution to be tankier. Also, there is no difference in ink drop between Easy and Hard mode.

Yeah, I´m stuck at that boss. I loved running through all three levels in one go, always getting more skill. Now I´m stuck playing just a single level, than taking ages to get to the boss and dying, and it gets me no ink.
I really hope it can go back to the way it was, if/when I beat the boss.

On a separate note, the endgame really could use more items. I mean, it has plenty of amazing and fun weapons, but not enough armour and especially skills.
And since I´m writing this out, the "bestiary" really could use more information on enemies. (name, stats...)

To be honest, the last level is just such a weird shift in balance compared to even the third comic, because it just tosses you in without warning, kinda made me think I had to just endure it and... There are some problems for me. Fighting pretty much a mini boss rush every time you get there is one thing, but then as long as you are there you might as well downgrade your life ink skill cause you ain't getting any, weird. Then I noticed that the monochrome visuals also don't help me navigate the clutter at all, and...

So in the end I got frustrated with the entire approach, turned on easy mode and pretty much just returned the game to a state where I could have the fun I'd been having again. Really, really strange design choices...

Yeah. Fortunately, I found that after you beat the final, final boss, the game pretty much returns to how it was previously. But then if you are doing a full run, yeah, might as well just kill yourself on the last level because you get no ink. (that I know of)

I know I'm late to the party, but the last chapter really dropped the fun part of the game. It's also a lot harder to differentiate projectiles from the background if it's WHITE ON WHITE. I'll rather quit than force myself through 30 mins of prep just to basically get reset to 0 while trying the last boss.

Also why would you take the older chapters away, even if only until the boss is beaten? I wanna 100 % the alien world before punishing myself with that crap. Yeah I know I can unlock "Death", but it really kills my spirit when suddenly the epic quest through comics became "prepare for this OP pos".

Anyway fun game until that.

Yeah, the "locking", through temporary, is the worst thing. At least they could give you some rewards for that area later, because now when I beat the alien area I just suicide.

I just set it to easy for the first time just to get this done. Obviously I beat that last boss and...are you kidding me? That fight went on forever and got ridiculously difficult. That's not remotely the same level of difficulty as any other boss on hard.

He starts recovering to at least 50 % health and then goes even more crazy than before.

Like, I enjoyed this game a lot, but that's ludicrous.

Game is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tough even on easy, Hades for example is a piece of cake compared to this, lol. Easily one of the hardest roguelites on the market. And yeah, that last boss is terrible.
