Remember, that you can redistribute your skill points at will. You can switch your build for getting more ink, and try to get as much ink in a run as you can (further comic books drop more of it), also selecting items, that help you get more black ink. For the final confrontation, you can then change the skill distribution to be tankier. Also, there is no difference in ink drop between Easy and Hard mode.
I really hope it can go back to the way it was, if/when I beat the boss.
On a separate note, the endgame really could use more items. I mean, it has plenty of amazing and fun weapons, but not enough armour and especially skills.
And since I´m writing this out, the "bestiary" really could use more information on enemies. (name, stats...)
So in the end I got frustrated with the entire approach, turned on easy mode and pretty much just returned the game to a state where I could have the fun I'd been having again. Really, really strange design choices...
Also why would you take the older chapters away, even if only until the boss is beaten? I wanna 100 % the alien world before punishing myself with that crap. Yeah I know I can unlock "Death", but it really kills my spirit when suddenly the epic quest through comics became "prepare for this OP pos".
Anyway fun game until that.
He starts recovering to at least 50 % health and then goes even more crazy than before.
Like, I enjoyed this game a lot, but that's ludicrous.
