Game is too fast (solutions avaliable)

The game is too fast and the dialogues are getting cut off.
I spent a lot of time looking for a fix but the only two I could find is limiting framerate and enabling vsync. Neither of them worked for me.
Any way to deal with it?

Maybe you're type machine is to new/too fast?

My PC is definitely too fast. XP compatibility mode did nothing.
The game runs in 1500-3000 fps.
I don't understand, I specifically told both Nvidia control pannel and profile inspector to limit the frame rate but the game ignores it.

Hello everyone, this problem also causes the dialogues to cut short. I found the solution on this forum: https://www.gog.com/forum/syberia_series/syberia_2_speech_is_cut_short/post1

The solution is from SvenGroot and it was the only one working for me. Just go on this Github page: https://github.com/ThirteenAG/d3d8-wrapper/releases and download the two ddl files (drd8.zip). Copy the files in the Syberia2 installation directory. Then open the .ini file and set FPSLimit to 60. This will limit the frame rate and will "slow down" the game. Hope it works for you too!

I was able to fix it as well. You really need to set the FPS limit but for some reason the limit was ignored even after I set it in software.
I found one program that worked: Riva Tuner Statistics Server.
After adding the game path (it's game.exe), setting FPS limit to 60 and running the game, it worked normally. You just need to make sure the program is running before starting the game.

I have the same problem, I tried to use NVIDIA Inspector to settle up the FPS but it didn't change anything in the game.
I guess I have to play it this way. I already spent 1 hour to put the cinematics in French, now I'm done trying to fix it when I'm a noob x')

I actually discovered by accident a website which told me how to change cinematics to French. At first I just assumed they are only in English.

Did you try Riva Tuner Statistics Server.? Nvidia Inspector didn't work for me either but that software did. Just make sure you download the correct one because there is one with a similar name.

Hi, well, actually it's possible that NVIDIA worked a little, since most of the sentences in the game are now complete. There is maybe 20 % of dialogues that are cuts. I'll play it this way, but thank you for letting me now about Riva Tuner Statistics Server, I'll try it if I need someday !
(What I really would want, actually, is a few patches of the game x'D And another patch on Syberia 1 who crashed two times when I played it).

Yeah, I think that the games should have patches released considering that the 4th part just came out (so they are still making the game).
Syberia 1 actually worked without any issue for me. Syberia 2 took a bit of tinkering before it finally worked properly but after that no more issues.

Yes, I saw that, but as I said I don't understand. I don't know what or where an installation directory is. The point is moot anyway because I already returned the game

For future reference to access the game files:
1. Right click the game on your game list in Steam app
2. Go to settings
3. Go to local files on the list on the left
4. Click browse
This opens the directory where the game is installed.

Very cool, this works fast and easy peasy! I limited to 120fps to make the game a bit faster, it annoyed me the most that Syberia 1 was soo slow, so I am happy that you can adjust it this way. If 120fps it too fast maybe 100fps will do, I have to try :)

Tried other things (NVIDA control panel, compatibility options, vsync, etc), but this was the one that ultimately worked - thanks!
